changedThe very first NPC playtest is now open! You can sign up for it on the game's Steam page and I will be granting access to the players in batches. The playtest will last from a few days to a week, so hurry up if you'd like to try it out. [dynamiclink href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/2859220/Vuntra_City/?utm_source=website"]
changedChallenge 1: Become friends with an NPC. You'll know you got there if they call you their friend when they greet you. Pretty straightforward.
changedChallenge 2: Find a unique named NPC. Hint: the "Faces of Success" magazines may give you an approximate location of a sighting. Also, unique NPCs will have their name displayed by default, so you will see them from afar.
changedChallenge 3: Give an NPC an existential crisis. Hint: this will only happen to certain personalities, so you may have to talk to a bunch of people.

Also please join the Discord so you can give me feedback and find out more information about the playtest's content: https://discord.gg/UU3CbNnJDp This is just the first playtest for the NPCs of Vuntra City, and hopefully not the last. The NPCs are feature complete, but they are still a work in progress, so expect jank and bugs. The dialog is also not in its final state, but feel free to give me feedback on what you like and what you don't like about it, and whether you want to see more variety or content in certain dialog branches. NPC Challenges

To make the playtest a little more interesting, I have a few challenges for you to complete. They aren't complicated or time consuming, but their completion may depend on luck due to the procedural nature of the project.

  • Challenge 1: Become friends with an NPC. You'll know you got there if they call you their friend when they greet you. Pretty straightforward.

  • Challenge 2

    Find a unique named NPC.

    Hint

the "Faces of Success" magazines may give you an approximate location of a sighting. Also, unique NPCs will have their name displayed by default, so you will see them from afar.

  • Challenge 3

Give an NPC an existential crisis.

    Hint

this will only happen to certain personalities, so you may have to talk to a bunch of people.

I have no idea how hard or easy these challenges will be for you guys, so I'm looking forward to your feedback on that. Also, there is no prize, they are just for fun.

Good luck and have fun!
