As mentioned previously, UPDATE 3’s main goal was to broaden the mod pool, increase build diversity, and add many quality of life features.

THE MODULES Steam post image

In the roadmap, as you probably remember, I promised to give you 18 modules. But in the actual update there are 19. I've managed to sneak one extra.

This is the biggest single drop of new modules since launch. Every category has seen additions.

Body Mods

Zeus Strike - Enemies hit by gravity tethered objects will be struck by lightning

BUNNYHOP.XES - Jumping out of a slide will drop a destructive mine

Ice Breaker - Enemies inflicted with ice will always receive a critical hit

Cold Snap - Taking damage freezes all enemies

Sharp Debris - Destruction debris has a chance to apply Laceration to enemies

Ability Mods

Nade Rage - Provides unlimited grenades with no cooldown for a short duration

Mine Fabricator - Generates a proximity mine

Throwing Knife - Deals high damage and extremely high critical damage

Critical Overdrive - All damage is critical for a short duration

Catalyst Adapter - For a brief duration, any attack that could apply an elemental stack will have a 100% chance to do so

Fire Mode Mods

Pump Shot - Adds pump fire mode to weapon

Melee Mods

Melee Reclaim - Meleeing an enemy will reset the dash cooldown

Drop Matrix - Increases melee damage when airborne

KNEE/BREAKER - Increases melee damage when sliding

Focused Strike - Holding melee will produce a more damaging attack

Digistruct Bolt - Holding melee will produce a high damage destructive bolt

Serrated Edge - Chance to inflict Laceration when meleeing an enemy

Weapon Mods

High Caliber - Decreases fire rate but increases damage

Critical Wounds - Critical hits have a chance to inflict Laceration (What’s ‘laceration’ you ask? Well, more on that below!))

MELEE BUFF

This one is big, and I know many of you will welcome it.

Melee damage now scales with enemy health, which means it stays relevant deep into runs rather than dropping off in the later zones. The scaling will only clamp the minimum damage given, meaning melee builds can still scale upwards - leaving plenty of room for experimentation.

The Severance hack has been removed as a result, as it is no longer required.

NEW INFLICTION: LACERATION

Enemies stacked with Laceration take increased melee damage - the more stacks, the harder you hit. Many of the new mods are able to inflict laceration, giving melee builds more ways to build stacks quickly and keep the pressure on.. A melee-focused run has more going for it than ever.

COMMUNITY VOICE: THE RECYCLER Steam post image

This one is all down to community involvement. You asked, and here it is. The Recycler will appear in shop locations, allowing you to recycle unwanted mods for credits.

NEW HACK UPGRADE: RECYCLER

The Recycler Hack Upgrade is required for the recycler to appear. Additional tiers of the upgrade will improve how much currency you get back when recycling mods.

ACCESSIBILITY AND READABILITY IMPROVEMENTS

  • Crosshair colour customisation added to user settings

  • Sharpening slider added to video settings

  • Improved gamepad navigation throughout all UI

  • Dropped loot now has a screen indicator

  • Rock debris in boss arenas has a stronger pull towards the player and better visibility through surfaces

  • Damage numbers now persist when an enemy is downed

TECH + PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENTS

The game is now running on Unreal Engine 5.7. Better performance across the board, improved rendering on lower-spec machines, and a stronger foundation for everything coming next.

  • FSR implemented, DLSS updated to the latest version

  • Various background optimisations to improve rendering performance on lower-spec machines

  • Optimisations for when firing many projectiles at once

  • Physics performance optimisations

  • Should see slightly less CPU usage when many enemies are present due to optimisations to character movement

GAMEPLAY IMPROVEMENTS

  • Ability cooldown now audibly pings when it's ready

  • Mini-bosses now provide a "mini-boss chest" (they always have done, but they're now more distinguishable to clearly show they provide x1 decryptor)

  • Supply crate hack which provides an item chest will now be more useful (No longer gives ammo or health, which are useless at the start of a run)

  • Common slot invokers got a slight buff - now reach in a 3 slot direction

  • Ability mods are now more likely to drop

BUG FIXES

  • Various small background bug fixes

  • Engine upgrade to 5.7 should fix some crashes experienced during shader compilation

  • Fix for a rare case where the player could fall through the ground geometry

Important note from the publisher: The overload feature isn’t actually supposed to be in the game. It’s a leftover from a system Daniel was experimenting with and ultimately decided to scrap. We’ll fix this as soon as possible.
