New Preview/Testing branch for Visseron Idle

  • Find the game in the Steam Library, right-click, and select Properties.

  • Go to the Betas tab.

  • Select the Testing branch from the dropdown menu and enter the password [c]VisseronIdleTester[/c]

This is the new balance patch pre-access branch. It will use your save data, so if you'd like to backup your save beforehand please do so.

Your save file should be here [c]%appdata%\\visseron-idle[/c] in the [c]save-data.json[/c] file. You can duplicate that file and add [c].BAK[/c] to the end of one.

Example [c]save-data.json.BAK[/c]

Then when you boot up the testing version of Visseron Idle if anything goes wrong, you can always delete the duplicate [c]save-data.json[/c] and revert to the main game by disabling the betas in Steam.

If you want to be super careful, you can move the [c]save-data.json[/c] to another folder entirely to avoid the rename. Then once you go back to the main game you can just drop it back in the folder mentioned above to overwrite any changes that the Testing version updated.

Future Patch Notes:

Visseron Idle - v2.18.0: The Balancing Act

This update is all about smoothing out the rough edges: a better economy, more accessible crafting, and a few important bug fixes.

Tool Tier Update

Arcanium tools now work on all tasks up to level 100. You no longer need Voltite tools to reach the highest-level content. Arcanium is now the highest required tool tier in the game. Voltite tools still exist and are still worth making. Equipping a tool above the required tier grants a +15% speed bonus up to a maximum of +60% when you are multiple tiers above the requirement. Voltite tools are now a bonus, not a requirement.

Animal Husbandry

  • Fine Sheep now produce 4 Silk Thread per spin, up from 3.

  • Superior Sheep now produce 3 Moonweave Thread per spin, up from 2.

  • Fine and Superior sheep should now feel more rewarding as your main source of higher-tier thread.

Farming

  • Herb seeds now drop much more frequently from gathering tasks.

  • Early seeds like Stonebur, Veilgreens, and Dustbarley now drop very often.

  • High-level seeds like Ashvine, Veilblossom, and Voidleaf are still rarer, but should be much easier to stockpile than before.

  • Each harvest now has a 50% chance to produce a bonus second crop.

  • Farming XP has been raised across the board so Farming should now level at roughly the same pace as similar Herbalism tasks.

Cooking

  • New: Fine Truffle Omelette, unlocked at Cooking level 45. This is crafted with Fine Eggs, a Fine Truffle, and Fish Oil, and heals for 350 HP.

  • New: Ranch Provisions Pack. Bundle Truffle Omelettes and Egg Fried Rice into a double-yield pack for the Provisions Hall.

  • Animal Husbandry now has a passive income path alongside fishing.

  • Truffle Omelette now requires 2 Eggs instead of 3.

  • Superior Truffle Omelette now requires 2 Superior Eggs and 1 Fish Oil instead of 3 Eggs and 2 Fish Oil.

  • Glowroot Broth now requires 1 Glowroot, down from 2.

  • Herb Glazed Glowroot now requires 1 Glowroot, down from 3.

  • Sunberry Tart now requires 2 Sunberries, down from 3.

  • Ashvine Stew now requires 1 Stonebur, down from 2.

Blacksmithing

  • Baking Coke now requires 6 Charcoal instead of 12.

  • Blacksmithing should no longer demand quite so much wood production just to keep the furnace running.

  • Imbuing Coke now requires 1 Arcane Essence instead of 2.

  • Salvage reprocessing costs have been reduced significantly.

  • Common salvage now converts at a better rate, including Nails, Scrap Metal, Corroded Chain, Shadow Residue, and Void Fragment.

  • Rare salvage now also converts more efficiently, including Enchanted Scrap and Crystallized Shards.

Brewing

  • Most brewing recipes now require fewer herbs.

  • Early ales now brew from 2-3 crops instead of 3-4.

  • Almost all high-level potions using Ashvine, Veilblossom, Starbloom, and Voidroot now cost 1 herb instead of 2.

  • Your seed supply should now go much further when brewing.

Light Crafting

  • Silk Thread crafting now requires 1 Torn Fabric instead of 2.

  • Shadowthread Cloth now requires 2 Shadow Residue, down from 3, and 1 Torn Fabric, down from 2.

  • Dragonweave Cloth now requires 1 Void Fragment, down from 2, and 2 Torn Fabric, down from 3.

  • Cloth weaving now requires fewer threads per piece across the board.

  • Linen, Silk, and Moonweave each need 1 fewer thread.

  • High-tier cloth, including Shadowthread, Dragonweave, and Voidcloth, also costs less to spin.

  • The Light Crafting skill page has been reorganized. Tailoring and Leatherworking material tasks are now in their own collapsible section, separate from gear crafting.

Scavenging

  • Torn Fabric now drops much more reliably from early salvaging tasks.

  • Waterlogged Barrels now have an 80% Torn Fabric drop chance, up from 50%.

  • Shipwreck Crates now have a 75% Torn Fabric drop chance.

  • Crumbling Ruins now have a 65% Torn Fabric drop chance.

  • Forgotten Tombs now have a 50% Torn Fabric drop chance.

  • Raw Wolf Pelt and Raw Dryona Hide now drop more often from Waterlogged Barrels.

  • Raw Beast Hide now drops more often from Crumbling Ruins and Abandoned Minecarts.

  • Pumice Stones are now cheaper to craft. Each type now requires 2 sand and 1 essence, down from 3 sand and 2 essence.

Provisions Hall

  • Frontier Rations, Combat Provisions, and Feast Basket now produce 2 packs per craft instead of 1.

  • Required ingredients for these packs have also been reduced.

Bug Fixes

  • Quest repair after rebirth: Some players affected by an older rebirth issue could end up with an empty Quest page and no quests appearing. The game now detects this when your save loads and automatically restarts your quest log.

  • Collapsed sections now stay collapsed: Collapsed skill task categories, combat zones, and the skill gear panel no longer reset after a game update.

  • Ranch requirement fixed: The Ranch estate room description now correctly lists Masonry level 25 as a build requirement.

  • This should prevent the Animal Pen upgrade from appearing unexpectedly locked after building the Ranch.

Thanks for playing! As always, if you run into any issues, you can join the Visseron Idle Discord or drop a note in the Steam Discussions or bug report thread.
