addedWelcome to our fourth Dev Blog for Veterans: Napoleonic Wars ! Today, we are happy to show you new game mechanics, new unit art, and new historical maps we are working on.
addedFirst, we are introducing a new mechanic: Pre-Battle Army Management . You can use the new menus to visit the Arsenal, buy new weapons, and equip your infantry, cavalry, and artillery. You can also manage your soldiers in the Barracks to make sure your army is ready for war.
changedNext, we added New Unit Portraits . When you select your troops, you will now see new detailed 2D art for different types of soldiers, officers, and cavalry. This brings more personality to your army.
changedWe are also working hard on environments and showing early looks at four historical battlefields: the Battle of Mondovi, the Battle of Arcole, the Battle of Lodi (featuring its famous bridge), and the Battle of Rivoli (introducing winter landscapes and snow).
changedFinally, we are adding Night Missions ! You will now have to command your army in the dark. This creates a very different atmosphere, with musket flashes lighting up the night battlefield.
