This month was all about bosses! And some other things on the side, but mostly bosses :D

  • Before jumping into designing and creating our first boss, we looked at other games and the feedback we got from you guys to discuss what out bosses should look and feel like

  • We've then created some game design concepts for all our planned bosses

  • A blockout of the first arena and walk-up to the boss was built and tested

  • We've also designed and are building some new levels and mini-games for the next planet πŸ‘€ here's a sneak peak:

  • Using Unreal's state tree plugin we've started implementing a rough version of the first boss that moves around and has different attacks and phases and everything

  • Our meta-progression system is coming along nicely with some new menus to buy permanent upgrades like more max health, a shield and so on...

  • While Vacunauts is definitely not a narrative game, we want a tiny bit of story so the game and setting feels more alive so we've been working on our ideas and how we want to implement them

Thanks for checking in!

Until next month πŸ‘‹
