Hi space scouts 🪐👾
a productive 2025 lies behind us, and we want to start off the new year by sharing more behind-the-scenes insights into the development of Vacunauts with you!
From now on, we’ll be posting monthly dev-logs to keep you updated on what we’ve been working on!
So, without further ado, here’s what we’ve been up to in January:
A new supporter-type enemy has joined the ranks
A full UI rework using the common UI plugin is in the works to make everything not only look better, but also to improve navigation (especially with controller!)
Early blockouts of new levels are in the process of being beautified to go from this

New abilities like the Plasma Tether or Lava Tomb were added
Elemental affinities for enemies and abilities were implemented
Attacks now have a chance to do critical damage 🔥
- New progression systemnew upgrades and levels are now unlocked through playing and finishing games
You can now join a friend’s lobby through the steam overlay

New and improved audio for abilities and UI was added
First online playtest with friends was fun and successful!
We started posting regularly on Tiktok again 👀
