changedSince the launch of Unwanted Dungeon, I've received a lot of feedback about the late game becoming too overloaded with spells and enemies, causing performance and FPS to drop. This is especially noticeable on PCs with lower-end specs. Because of this, today's update brings some much-needed changes.
added⚡ Performance & OptimizationPhysics & Calculations: Added several under-the-hood improvements to the physics and calculation systems. The game is now much lighter and smoother when there is a massive amount of skills and projectiles on the screen.
removed⚡ Performance & OptimizationVisual Clutter: Removed certain particles and minor visual effects from the final floors. They looked nice, but you couldn't really see them in the late-game chaos anyway, and they were heavily impacting performance.
added⚡ Performance & OptimizationDamage Numbers: Added a cap to the maximum amount of damage numbers displayed on screen at once, which was one of the main villains behind the FPS drops.
changed⚡ Performance & OptimizationCombined, these changes make the game run much better, especially in the final stages, leading to a much more pleasant gameplay experience (and saving your PC from frying XD).

There are a few other character skills and effects that still need adjustments to prevent crashes during massive enemy swarms, but those will be addressed in an upcoming character balance patch.

⚡ Performance & Optimization

  • Physics & CalculationsAdded several under-the-hood improvements to the physics and calculation systems. The game is now much lighter and smoother when there is a massive amount of skills and projectiles on the screen.

  • Damage NumbersAdded a cap to the maximum amount of damage numbers displayed on screen at once, which was one of the main villains behind the FPS drops.

🏹 Elias and 🧙‍♂️ Aaron Small Changes

  • Elias - Multiple ShotLevel 7 upgrades was literally breaking the game, so its effect has been replaced. There are a few other character skills and effects that still need adjustments to prevent crashes during massive enemy swarms, but those will be addressed in an upcoming character balance patch.
  • Aaaron - Arcane BeamImproved to apply damage as soon as the beam starts. In addition, the beam's damage tick rate was reduced, so it now deals more instances of damage than before. The beam's level 3 was improved to execute enemies with a 1% to 5% chance.

⚔️ The Insidious Brothers

The Insidious Brothers bosses have been slightly buffed to make the challenge more interesting:

  • Gladiator BrotherReduced the recovery time between his attacks.
  • Shaman BrotherAdded a telegraph (warning indicator) to his AoE spell to make dodging it a more fun "dance". To compensate for this, the spell's damage was slightly reduced.

🐺 Enemies & Other Threats

  • Werewolf & MimicAdjusted their health and movement speed to properly reflect the threat level they are supposed to represent.
  • Floor 2 Orcs: They are now slightly faster.

🛠️ Other Minor Tweaks

  • Slightly reduced the amount of experience required to level up mastery ranks.

  • Fixed some environmental objects that were rendering on top of the player character.

  • Fixed an issue where the skills screen would lose focus when leveling up a skill using a gamepad.

  • Adjusted the EXP granted by the Knowlagement Ring.

  • Increased the minimum and maximum enemy spawn limits for the Crypts, starting from Floor 2.

  • Fixed an issue where the "Immortal" mark wasn't appearing on certain enemies.

Additionally, I've created a pinned thread in the Community Hub to log all the hotfixes and minor updates I've done over time (and will continue to do).

Check out here.

I am incredibly grateful to the community that has been actively playing the game, and especially to everyone taking the time to visit the forums to report bugs and issues.

Now, it's time to grab my backpack and head back into the unwanted dungeon. See you down there!
