I have attempted to fix the unresponsive jumping some of you guys have experienced. I admit i'm not exactly having this same issue, but i'm sure there's more variables to this specific quirk.
Changelog:
Made all input checks independent from framerate
Made all player collision and ground checks independent from framerate
A very real problem is that i've been working on this game for so long that i just got used to the jank. If this issue is not solved with the above mentioned remedies, please explain to me exactly what is happening on your end and what your specs/refresh rate is, cause it might have something to do with hardware related stuff and i'm just too stupid to realize what the real culprit is.
Also just to clarify there is a double jump mechanic in the game. I realize only now that i really didn't make it obvious for any new players, so just to explain:
When the player leaves the ground, either by jumping or falling off something, they have an extra jump while mid-air.
I'm not sure if this is one of the mechanics messing up the flow of jumping, but i'd really like to hear what you guys think about its implementation. Perhaps i've drank the kool-aid and think it's fine when in reality it's complete garbage!
