Update: Combo System, Shepard Tone Typing & UI Polish
Persistent Combo System - Your combo now persists across battles within a single run. Chain streaks across multiple fights for massive payoffs. - Reaches escalating tiers that unlock at 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, and 1000 — each with its own name (WARM / LOCKED IN / FLOW / OVERCLOCK / LEGENDARY / UNBREAKABLE / TYPOMANCER), full-screen visual flash, audio stinger, and flat damage bonus on top of normal combo scaling. - Resets on typo, player death, or sentence timer expire. Higher combos play a dramatic combo-break sound when lost. - Persistent combo badge in the top-right of battle shows your current streak and tier at all times.
Shepard Tone Typing - Every correct keystroke now plays a mechanical click layered with a Shepard tone that climbs in pitch across each sentence. Creates a continuous rising tension that resets on sentence completion with a satisfying resolution chord. - Applies to main battles, VS mode, VR gauntlet, and sneak attacks.
Typing Volume Mixer - New "Typing" slider added to the Options menu alongside Music, SFX, and Voice. - All typing-related sounds (keystrokes, Shepard tone, sentence completion chord, combo tier stingers, combo break) are controlled independently so you can dial them in without touching other audio. - Defaults to 50% to sit under music and SFX.
Hoople Battle Smoothing - When a Hoople trainer switches to their next Typomon, the sentence pool no longer wipes mid-word. You finish the sentence you're on, and subsequent sentences naturally transition to the new mon's type. - Combo persists through Hoople mon switches — kill their whole team without dropping your streak.
TAPE Mode Improvements - Next sentence is now clearly visible at the end of the TAPE scroll instead of nearly invisible dim text. A second look-ahead sentence is also shown. - Sentence advancement now happens first in the completion handler so transitions feel instant with no typing interference.
Input Focus Fix - Fixed a bug where playing the Lights Out puzzle, deleting a save, or interacting with menus via mouse would leave the typing input unfocused, making it impossible to type in the next battle until restarting the game. - Battle input now auto-focuses whenever entering any battle screen or transitioning to a new enemy.
