Gameplay
addedLast time I teased upcoming content for the game, I detailed Version 2's new heroes, and said that there will be one more update after that. I am returning today to say that I have at least one more update planned, with high hopes of a fourth (v5) update late this year-- but no promises!
addedSo far, I've settled into a pattern of each major update containing three new heroes and some sort of other addition to the game. This next update will follow that same pattern. Here is a sneak peek of the next three heroes I am working on:
addedAs I've worked on this game, I've had ideas for new characters and have also gotten suggestions from players and friends. I've got an ever-growing pile of hero designs to pull from when working on a new update. I like that the size of the roster has been getting ever more diverse with the addition of new heroes, and enables players to try new combinations that can change up how you play the game.
addedWhen adding new heroes, I try to make sure that they aren't just slightly different versions of an existing hero, but instead offer a new playstyle or gimmick that isn't present yet. This has been getting more challenging, but also more satisfying as I design and prototype new ones. I have also been trying to make sure that the game does not overload new players with tons of new characters out of the gate. I would like them to be relatively easy to unlock, but not unlocked all at once. A good player should be able to unlock most of the roster in one run, while a new player will get one or two new heroes when they get a little bit farther than they did before.
addedIn Version 4, you can expect to see these three new heroes that offer some interesting build-paths and strategies. For players who have beat the game, I'm adding a new mode to turn the difficulty and chaos even higher. With a new challenging mode added, each character will be getting a new earnable trophy related to that mode. I am very happy with where the game is at in Version 4, and I think we've come a far way from where we started in v1. I hope you've enjoyed playing TST as much as I've been adding to it, and I am excited to share Version 4 with you soon!
addedStay tuned, and I'll see you in June with the new update. ːB1ː
