As a voice well-known to PCM and TDF players would say: "Hello and welcome, everyone!" No question of a sneaky attack in this devblog, but rather a look at the content added to the new TDF26 installment.

First of all, for the first time ever, all World Tour teams and all Pro Team teams will be available in the game with their updated jerseys and equipment. Frames will now be available when creating your team in Pro Team, Pro Leader, and Criterium modes. You will be able to choose your favorite model and create a unique combination with the jersey of your choice.

New Monuments

The 2026 route is rich in iconic structures. With the start located in Barcelona, it was impossible not to represent the Catalan capital without its most beautiful edifice: the Sagrada Familia. A large-scale architectural work, this also required a gigantic effort from our graphic artists to do justice to Gaudi's vision. This monument will be visible during the inaugural TDF team time trial but also in its individual time trial variant.

Caught by surprise last year with the announcement of the passage through the Butte Montmartre and Rue Lepic, this year we had the time to build this new emblematic location with the Sacré-Cœur Basilica at its summit. The Champs-Élysées circuit thus finds a brand new appeal with this cobbled climb, but the historic version remains accessible in-game for those who want to relive the sensations of the mass sprint in Paris.

The Classics Calendar Continues to Expand

This is undoubtedly a race that few expected on the program: the Muscat Classic. A choice that may seem surprising, but we were keen to refresh the start of the season for the Pro Team and Pro Leader modes. The Middle Eastern races are now an essential part of the international cycling calendar, and they offer us a great opportunity to add a new superheated atmosphere to the game with its sandy and desert landscapes. The Muscat Classic therefore offers a new geographical setting before the start of the European races.

At the other end of the cycling calendar, the Touraine vineyard will now close the season during Paris-Tours. The "classic of the falling leaves" will bring its share of suspense with just over ten kilometers of dirt tracks spread over the last 50 kilometers.

That's it for the 2 major additions of this edition, in addition to the updated routes for the Tour de France, Paris-Nice, the Tour Auvergne Rhônes Alpes, and other races in the game.

The routes serving as the basis for the world championships have also been updated. An opportunity to discover an already mythical circuit: Sallanches. It is on these roads that you can try to become world champion like Bernard Hinault, who won on this same circuit in 1980.

In total, nearly 18,000 kilometers of racing (17,920 to be precise) await you in this 2026 opus (which is 1,800 km more than last year). And as has been the custom for several years now, all stages except for time trials will be playable online in Criterium mode, and one-off and regular events will liven up the Tour Club with Races and Descents of the Moment.

Miscellaneous Additions

This 2026 opus also gave us the opportunity to improve certain specific points of the environment. Visible in the distance during the stages in Barcelona or serving as the setting for the finish area, as in the Saint-Julien-en-Saint-Alban > Berre l'Étang stage on Paris-Nice, the port areas have been remodeled for more realism and variety.

The mountain passes will also be closer to reality with the addition of tunnels that enhance immersion. This year's route will not allow you to take advantage of them on the climbs, but several descents, such as that of the Croix de Fer or the one leading to the foot of the climb to Sarennes, will benefit from this new addition.

The national champion jerseys have also undergone a small facelift in order to display the official jerseys. Given the combination of nationality + team and the date of the European country championships, which generally take place a week before the start of the Tour, it is impossible for us to produce all possible cases. The game includes the official jerseys at the date of release. If you wish to apply a manual update in the Editor, this remains possible. If the official jersey does not exist, the rider will then automatically wear an unbranded champion's jersey.

Finally, the last point on which we will return in the next devblog, the team time trial has been the subject of particular attention in its presentation with the addition of a launch ramp and the updating of helmets and frames for a more realistic and modern rendering.
