Tome of Talis: A Dice Conquest Game changes
A new update is here, chock full of improvements to the core gameplay loop. A special thanks to the many demo players who gave great feedback; many of your ideas ended up in this update!
New Content
The Tutorial has been reworked majorly! It should now provide a much better onboarding experience for new players.
The game now features a replay system to allow you to figure out what happened after a crazy round!
Spectral now has a visual and sound effect when it is being triggered
Dodge now has a visual and sound effect when it is being triggered
Heal area and heal now have a visual effect
If your commander is damaged after battle, you have a chance to get health back instead of a unit level up or pick three!
Balance Changes:
Buffed Trickster to feel like more of an upgrade from rogue
Pike warden reworked to now give defense every turn, as well as improved sides.
Removed team defense ability from forge; too good and simultaneously confusing
Catapult's health has been nerfed. It was simply a bit too powerful for a tier one.
Heal area has been cheapened to a 3 cost spell, but only heals 3 hp at level 1, and 6 at level 2
You can now only duplicate one die from the mimic room
Witch hat now can only be triggered a maximum of twice per round
Mana storm now additionally removes the opposite commanders mana
Progression
New progression challenges for the devoted tier 3 units
New progression challenges for Spears of Hope and Jolly Men hands
Fixes:
Fixed a setting causing spells to display their bindings
Fixed a bug causing dice that are not dying to play dying effects
Fixed a bug causing "Row Defense" ability to not work
Fixed a bug causing level up screen to not show detailed views of dice.
Reworded Cleanse die side to be easier to understand
minor typo fixes
A new visual for weakened dice. This one looks a lot better imo
Fixed an issue where the die hover menu would be over more important ui elements
Fixed an issue with music cutting out after dying
Fixed an issue causing the Three guards to attack the commander when they shouldn't be.
Fixed an issue where rapidly whipping a die would cause it to attack the commander when it shouldn't be.
Fixed an issue where leveling up dice wasn't updating the die data.
Minor optimizations for dice
Fixed a bug where drill displayed 4 gold per 3 kills instead of 2 gold per three kills.
Fixed a bug causing the targeting system to lie
Fixed a bug where returning to a save game removed certain sound files
Changed defend description to be more clear
Misc
Passives have been moved to a different location below the commander! This should hopefully keep the battle screen a bit easier to read.
