It’s been a while since our last update — thank you for your continued support and patience. Just because we’ve been quiet doesn’t mean we haven’t been working. On the contrary, Theropods has taken some huge leaps forward, and we’re excited to finally share our progress with you.

Animations Complete + A Brand New Trailer

MOST of the animations (well, like 96%, but almost all) for the game are now complete. The game is now moving forward at full speed — we’re reviewing, refining, and polishing everything. Rough sneak peek time: Steam post image

Steam Next Fest: A New Demo (Now on Mac, Linux & Browser!)

We recently took part in Steam Next Fest with a brand-new demo. While Kickstarter backers have had access to earlier versions, this demo is a little different: Steam post image

We’ve loved seeing new players discover the world of Theropods for the first time — and after years in production, it’s amazing to reintroduce the game to the world.

Music Updates: Behind the Scenes with Petros

Petros Kaloritis (our composer) has been busy recording brand-new music for the game! The soundtrack is evolving along with the visuals. It’s coming together beautifully, and we can’t wait for you to hear it in full.

Hints & Highlights

One recurring piece of feedback from new players is about difficulty — particularly around puzzles. We’re currently experimenting with an optional highlight system to make some interactions clearer, but only if players choose to use it.

We want to stay true to that classic point-and-click feeling, but also understand that not everyone wants to play completely old-school. So if you want help, it’ll be there — unobtrusive, optional, and in-game.

No Dialogue, But Clearer Objectives

Since Theropods doesn’t use dialogue, we’re working on new ways to communicate objectives visually through intuitive design. So we are toying around with an objective UI indicator.

For example: during the demo hide and seek puzzle, some players didn’t realize how many kids they were supposed to find. We’re working on subtle visual cues to help with that kind of clarity, without breaking the no-dialogue style.

Press Love & Gamescom Plans!

We’ve been thrilled to see Theropods featured in multiple articles, including a piece on Vice. The attention is growing — and so are our plans.

We’re excited to announce that we’ll be at Gamescom 2025 in Cologne, Germany, with our very own booth!

It’ll be our first time showcasing Theropods in person at a festival of this size, and we’re really looking forward to it.

What’s Left?

There’s still plenty to do — including cutscenes, playtesting, and more tweaks — but we’re now confident in saying: The game is on track to be finished by the end of the year.

That said… we know we’ve shared dates in the past that didn’t quite hold up. So consider this a cautious prediction rather than a promise. 😅

One thing we can promise: thanks to the incredible support of Dionous Games, who’ve not only helped fund the project but continue to help us improve and promote it, we’re finally seeing the finish line.

Thanks for Sticking With Us

Making this game has taken longer than we ever expected — but your patience and belief in us has meant everything. We’re so close now, and we’re more motivated than ever to make Theropods the best game it can be.

Thanks again! — Kostas and Sarah (Lost Token)🦕
