Development Update November 2021

Hey puzzlers, time flies by so it is time for another development update. This month we were very busy implementing a localization system, as well as a subtitle system.

changedtime flies by so it is time for another development update. This month we were very busy implementing a localization system, as well as a subtitle system. We could also do another voice actor recording session and also finish the second map "Awakening".
addedGame progressLocalization system: We've successfully build and implemented a complete localization system for The Unbeatable Path . This will make it quite easy to implement new languages once we are done developing the game in our base language (English). This system doesn't only support text, it is also used to localize other assets like textures for example. Especially for the puzzles, it is necessary to localize textures as well for a better understanding of those. Another benefit of this system is that you can change the language during gameplay. The text will then be shown in your chosen language on the fly.
changedGame progressImplemented German as a new language: German is the first language we've implemented with our new localization system to test the localization of our game during development. We will continue to localize all of our upcoming content in german during development and once the game is done we will outsource the localization for other languages to a localization agency when everything runs smooth.
changedGame progressSubtitle system: We've also implemented a subtitle system that you can turn on and off during gameplay. This system is also based on our localization system.
addedGame progressRecording session with our voice actress: We did a new recording session together with our voice actress Jasmin for our main character Mia for all the voiceovers that were missing for the first three maps. Those audio recordings have then been gone through our post-production pipeline and were then implemented in the game.
addedGame progressFinished map Awakening: Awakening is our second map and has been overhauled during the last month. We've adjusted a lot of events, implemented new meshes, and updated a lot of textures and materials. We also produced the intro cutscene and implemented some other sequencer events as well.
