The Unbeatable Path changes
to give regular development updates, we decided to post our progress of The Unbeatable Path every month from now on. You will also get any news or announcements in that kind of post. Have fun reading!
Team development
We are proud to announce that we have more manpower covering this project since September. This helps us to achieve a better quality in all aspects of the game. This should also help us reaching our goal of a early access release at the end of next year or the beginning of 2023.
Game progress
We are currently working hard to finalize our following todos:
- Main Characterwe are using a completely new and high-quality skeletal mesh for our main character "Mia". This mesh is still work in progress and needs some more polishing, especially for the different cloth textures.
User Interface: we worked a lot on the UI in the last months and have finished the design of it already. This design is currently being implemented for all our interface elements.
- Movement system & animationswe've added several new animations for the main character and did an overhaul of the movement system in general. In detail, this means that we've replaced some of the existing animations, adjusted the timings of the animations, added new animations, defined a new movement speed and you are now able to strafe while crouching (this was highly requested by our community who tested the Indiegogo/Kickstarter demo).
Map progress: the first map, called "Rebirth" is almost finished and needs just some polishing. We also already started working on the second map, called "Awakening" which should be finished at the end of next month. For both of the maps there is mainly minor adjustments and some cutscenes missing which leads us to our next point.
Cutscenes: to create good looking cutscenes we are working with motion capturing animations which we are creating on our own with the help of the Rokoko SmartsuitPro & gloves. This system together with some keyframe animated events (with the help of control rigs) results in a good and affordable way to produce animations for our cutscenes.
Voiceovers: the voice over scripts for the first two maps are done and in November we will start recording those with the help of our voice actors.
Demo update
Today we've hidden the demo from the shop site since it does no longer reflect the game anymore, cause we are constantly improving all aspects of the game and won't stop doing so until the game is released. We mainly used the demo to have a very early build that we could show to our Kickstarter and Indiegogo supporters to give an insight of the look & feel of The Unbeatable Path.
