The Tram changes
The TRAM Open Alpha Test Is Now Live!
Until July 27, you can join the Steam Playtest and try The TRAM in its current stage of development.
Why a Playtest instead of a demo?
The TRAM is not yet ready for a full demo release. This is a genuine development build—much like the version we work with and test ourselves every day.
It still contains many bugs, unfinished mechanics, and temporary solutions, while some elements have yet to receive their final polish. We still have a great deal of work ahead of us!
Nevertheless, we decided that Steam Train Fest was the perfect time for an Open Alpha Test. It gives us an opportunity to show you the game right now—and gives the community a chance to take part in its development from a very early stage. Your feedback will help us understand what already works well and what needs more attention.
What is included in the alpha version?
The current version of The TRAM features two game modes.
Tutorial
You will find yourself at a tram depot, where you can learn the basics of operating a T3 tram. This short tutorial will prepare you for driving on your own—and for the future full version of the game :)
Quick Trip
In this mode, you can take a relaxed ride along a short loop route, stopping at tram stops and carrying passengers. There is no timetable and no complicated objectives—you can simply take the controls and enjoy the ride.
Even at this stage, we want to showcase two of The TRAM’s most important strengths: its tram physics and atmosphere. You can choose the season, weather, and time of day, take the driver’s seat, and carefully guide the tram along the available route.
Remember: in The TRAM, the tram is not “glued” to the rails. It is a heavy physical object governed by the laws of physics. So watch your speed—especially on curves!
We would love to see your feedback, screenshots, and videos. Join our Discord community and tell us how your first trip went!
And if you enjoy The TRAM, please add the game to your wishlist. It means a great deal to our small team!
