Hello everyone!

We want to make sure we keep you all fully updated on our progress and give you a closer look at what goes on behind the scenes. Welcome to our first Community Deep Dive!

Thank you all for playing our demo! 🩶 As mentioned in our previous Steam community update, it has now been taken off the platform as we focus on the main game. Don't worry, though, the demo will be back soon.

What's next?

More development!

We have compiled all of your feedback, bug reports, and suggestions and we are actively working our way through them. In the meantime, we are continuing to push forward on the rest of the game.

Here is a quick look at where we are:

  • We're currently assembling the pieces for the Act 3 prototype and will soon have the game playable from start to finish!

  • We are focusing heavily on writing the narrative bits and creating all the graphical assets.

  • There are very few "blank spots" left in both Act 1 and Act 2, so we’re making solid progress on the story!

While I can't announce a firm release date just yet (we still have a long road ahead!), we are working incredibly hard to ensure the highest quality possible. Could it be this year? Who knows! 😉

Blast from the past!

Initially, The Road of Dust and Sorrow was prototyped as a 3D game. Later on, we decided that the art style needed a shift. Since we already had great experience with pixel art from our previous game, The Long Reach, the choice became obvious.

We dug out a little remnant of how the game looked during that 3D prototype stage:
