This time, we're sharing development progress on the field areas for "The Perfect Prince"!

Originally, we designed this title as a story-driven adventure with minimal action elements.

However, we faced the challenge that having the playable character just walk made the gameplay feel monotonous... 💦

Of course, that wasn't the only factor contributing to the monotonous feel, but driven purely by the instinct to make the character move more! we partially revised the level design and implemented “Jumping” and “Climbing/Descending Ladders”!!

Jumping

Ladders

The core design philosophy itself remains unchanged (it doesn't require that much interactivity), so it's really just a minor sensory enhancement for atmosphere. But honestly, having more elements that react to you definitely makes you feel more connected to the protagonist!!

Glad I did it. Yeah (self-satisfied).

※I also tested pushing and pulling objects, but design-wise, the gimmick felt a bit too much and the annoyance outweighed the fun, so I decided to hold off on implementing that for now 🤔

Since we're at it, here's the latest, beautiful background that isn't a GIF.

That's all for this time.

Please continue to support ROCOCO GAMES and “ The Perfect Prince ”!

Bonus 4-panel comic.
