Experimental Branch: v1.2.0 — "OceanFest"

Enjoy a little teaser for the upcoming Q2 feature release!

Planned release: April 1st, 2026

New Features

  • Paradox Skill Trees — 3 skill trees (Infinite Maw, Abyssal Compression, Recursive Consumption) with 10 nodes each. Mutually exclusive A/B choices per column make every submersion cycle a fresh build. Resets on submersion.

  • Arc Devourer Mode — After your first submersion, toggle between Sonar (classic pulse-click) and Arc (chain-lightning that arcs between fish) with animated rainbow forking bolts.

  • 3 New Depth Abilities — Abyssal Vortex (Depth 3, persistent whirlpool), Depth Charges (Depth 4, timed mines with overlap crits), Spectral School (Depth 5, autonomous phantom sharks with pack bonuses).

  • Late-game Entropy & Teeth Upgrades — 6 new entropy upgrades (up to 1e48) and 5 new teeth upgrades (up to 1e45) for meaningful endgame progression.

  • Tier 5 Research — 3 deep studies requiring 1e25–1e35 biomass for massive production and teeth multipliers.

  • Per-Save UI Theming — 10 built-in themes + full custom palette editor. Each save keeps its own look.

Balance

  • Submersion rebalanced — Gentle +5% ramp per submersion instead of +100%. Endgame entropy thresholds scale in +50 exponent steps. Skill trees provide the major per-cycle power.

  • Pearls now preserved across submersion.

  • Upgrade globalMultiplier cap raised to 1e10.

  • Arc Devourer range cap removed.

Shark Movement — Complete Rework

  • Heading-rotation steering with natural arcs and U-turns.

  • 16-point chain-follow spine with multi-pass relaxation physics.

  • Nose oversteer, proximity turn dampening, adaptive inertia, and smooth frame damping for lifelike motion.

UI / UX

  • Redesigned Paradox tab with sub-tab navigation and glassmorphic skill tree cards.

  • Ability picker replaces old toggle — compact icon with popup panel.

  • Submersion button previews next depth ability unlock.

  • Auto-pulse now dispatches the active ability instead of always firing sonar.

  • Visual theme designer with preset cards, live preview, and per-token color editing.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed submersion benefit display showing wrong multiplier.
