  • Gameplay

changedWHAT TO EXPECTThe second world is tough, requiring that you really use all the mechanics in the game, including weird spells you haven't seen yet, a bunny demon that can hardly be called an enemy, and a really skull-breakingly tough boss: The Ogre.
addedRELEASE PLANGraphical improvements (more animations, new backgrounds, more effects for boss spells)

changedRELEASE PLANParticularly the latter two simply just require that people try the game and tell us what issues they are having. Being an indie project made in our spare time, it feels wrong to release the full game at full price without it having been played more thoroughly by others outside the developers and their friends and family. At the same time, it also feels like we are asking for free playtesters (well, actually you'll be paying us). I suppose that's technically what Early Access is, but it feels weird.
addedRELEASE PLANAs for the Danish translation, we realise the audience is tiny, but since we speak it, we often find new ways to phrase an idea or say a joke that is more fun, and since we've already translated a good deal, we'll finish it. It takes time though, as the game has actually become somewhat bigger in terms of hidden lore content.

Okay. Here we go.

On March 31st, 2024, we will release the Early Access version of The Girl Who Kicked a Rabbit.

It will include the tutorial world, and worlds 1 through 3. It will cost 7.00 $/€.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This will give you a big chunk of the full game!

The second world is tough, requiring that you really use all the mechanics in the game, including weird spells you haven't seen yet, a bunny demon that can hardly be called an enemy, and a really skull-breakingly tough boss: The Ogre.

In the third world you're probably gonna want to relax a little, so priorities change a bit. Still... something awaits at the end. Something... You'll see.

RELEASE PLAN

During Early Access, we plan to gradually include updates such as

  • Graphical improvements (more animations, new backgrounds, more effects for boss spells)

  • Gradual Danish translation

  • Continuous bug fixes

  • Balancing improvements

Particularly the latter two simply just require that people try the game and tell us what issues they are having.

As for the Danish translation, we realise the audience is tiny, but since we speak it, we often find new ways to phrase an idea or say a joke that is more fun, and since we've already translated a good deal, we'll finish it. It takes time though, as the game has actually become somewhat bigger in terms of hidden lore content.

CREATORS & JOURNALISTS

If you want to try the game early, please contact us either here, through Twitter (https://twitter.com/GirlKickRabbit) or by email at ohayo.jacob@gmail.com

We already have a bunch of people we are grately towards, that will be receiving a download key, but if you want to cover the game on your channel, blog, or wherever, we'd love to help out.

FINAL RELEASE

Once we've fixed the stuff you told us was broken and unbalanced for a month or two, we'll release the full game including the final fourth world, for the full price of 10.00 $/€

We'll conclude the story of Lumi's night of patrolling when we release the fourth and final world in the full release. There's plenty of secret lore in the Early Access version, but all the pieces won't be available till you play world 4.

Thank you to everyone who has given the early versions or the demo a try over the years. Participating in Steam Next Fest and the various conventions we attended, were real highlights of the experience. Seeing kids (and a couple of grown-ups) play through it (multiple times!) really gave us the confidence to say: Somebody is going to like this. This is worth finishing. Well... We're almost there.
