Welcome to our latest devblog! Last Thursday, we released the demo for "The Gambit Lost to Time". Have you tried it yet? It's the latest edition of a journey that has taken us approximately 2 years up until now, and we hope that you enjoy what we have offered so far.

First of all, let us talk about matters outside of the demo itself: We have partnered with Wave Games to publish our game in China! The initial contact was made in August (in a somewhat eccentric manner, if I may add). We maintained an exchange of updates until eventually a deal was signed in April.

As this is our first Steam game, there are so many variables that I do not know, and above all, I am only one person. I may be good at certain things, but game development is so vast that there is only so much one person can do (or one team for that matter). And that is where Wave comes in to take such burden off our shoulders. Suffice to say, this has been a partnership I am happy with, and may it continue well in the coming future.

Perhaps one day, we will spill more details on how this partnership came to be. I think it will be quite an interesting story to tell!

Moving on, let us talk a little bit about how things went since we launched our demo.

The wishlist number is getting quite healthy, with us going beyond 2000 wishlists some 48 hours after the demo launched. Our joint effort is only in its infancy, and we have a lot more to offer for you.

However, based on your feedback, these are the issues we often hear about:

  • Onboarding experience could be a lot smoother

  • Current maps feel too big and empty

  • General UI/UX and QoL issues

Thank you so much for providing your feedback on the demo! Therefore, we would like to provide you with a revised schedule and expectation of our updates:

July Update (scheduled for 29 July 2026)

  • Weather Effects + Time of Day

  • New Time Spells: Temporal Anchor + Chrono Vortex

  • Adjustment to unit costs and weapon triangle

  • Adjustments to existing mission maps

  • Additions of warnings before certain decisive actions

  • Adjustments to existing tutorials

Bolded are new / adjusted plans for the updates we have. Beyond these, we will adapt our plans based on your feedback so that we can shape up the best game possible. The updates we planned for August and September are also revised, but we'll keep it a surprise from you for now.

See you again soon at the end of this month with a new update!
