Illifar, King of Demons, has arrived in The Dungeon Beneath! This update also brings new characters, new artifacts, new equipment, new encounters, new types of rooms - and more!
ILLIFAR
Illifar joins Abaddon as a new final boss. At the start of each run, you'll be able to see which old god lurks below.
ANDROMALIUS AND BATHIN
With Illifar, comes two new types of rooms.
Andromalius and the Void. Each time you meet Andromalius, she'll transform one piece of equipment. Each piece of equipment transforms into a specific item. For example, Andromalius will always transform the Holy Scepter into the Potion Belt. Andromalius can even create some unique items...
Bathin's Bargain. Bathin offers a selection of optional bargains. Each bargain grants you gold; however, the bargain will raise the difficulty of the next battle.
NEW CHARACTERS
This update introduces three new characters: the Javelineer, the Channeler, and the Royal Guard. Each character begins unlocked and can be found at L1, L2, and L3.
The Javelineer is a welcome addition to any armor build, providing high damage and flexibility.
The Channeler offers doom builds a way to consistently trigger their effects.
The Royal Guard offers healing-focused parties a powerful tank, who can power up your hero.
NEW ARTIFACTS AND EQUIPMENT
In this update we're adding eight new artifacts, six new items, and many more secrets... Artifacts:
Royal Insignia. Your first campfire or store refresh is free.
Troll Blood. Battle Start: Restore 2 Health to your Hero.
Titanic Hammer. Battle Start: Give all allies 2 Armor.
Staff of the Amguan. If an ally doesn't attack, give them +1 Power.
Holy Distiller. After the first round, summon a Holy Wisp.
Book of Power. Round End: Give a random allied Human +1 Power.
Ethereal Essence. Whenever an ally loses shield, give them +3 Power.
Jack's Fiddle. When you visit a campfire, gain 2 gold. (A tragic relic from before Jack's transformation.)
Equipment:
Aamon's Blade. Hero Only. Counter: Gain +1 Attack.
Soul Stealer. Hero Only. When this character kills an enemy, restore 2 health.
Scavenger's Cloak. Archer only. When this character kills an enemy, summon a raven.
Soul Lens. When an ally dies, deal 1 damage to the nearest enemy.
Void Fury Ring. When this character kills an enemy, deal 1 damage to a random enemy.
Venin Shield. +3 Health. Battle Start: Become poisoned.

NEW ENCOUNTERS
The Upper Dungeon and The Underneath have a selection of brand new encounters, including two new bosses: the Gargantuan Slime, and the Ancient One.
QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS
You can now refresh the hero selection when starting a run. Additionally the hero selection screen offers more information about your run.
Reduced duplicates when refreshing the Merchant or Campfire. (You will not see duplicates twice in a row though you may see duplicates after that).
OTHER CHANGES
Ares, the Lost Knight now has the ability "Whenever this character would gain armor, they gain +3 Power instead." Previously Ares only gained +2 power.
The Enraged Ooze enemy hero has been reskinned as the Metallic Ooze.
Patch notes are now viewable in-game.
Updated Faxel Fetterbite's ability to "Counter: Deal 1 damage to the nearest enemy, then change lanes." Previously Faxel would deal 1 damage to a random enemy.
The Mind Reaver is now less difficult.
