The Chimera Chronicles: Usurper changes
It's been a long while since I had last updated this game, but that is only because of the annoying landscape material issues going on - which I had time to fix. That, and removing the tab-targeting combat since that wasn't working out all too well as I had hoped... Oh well!
Before I go into what has changed, here is what are the known issues:
The new portals are having some material issues going on that I am currently trying to remedy.
The path to Harver Stronghold (the second dungeon) is missing because I forgot to add in the path ːsteamfacepalmː (just find "James" in the Merchants Path map and turn left).
Speaking of Harver Stronghold, there are three main issues:
The enemies needed to be slain for a quest in that dungeon need to be changed around
There is a staircase that I need to fix so that the player can actually explore the rest of the dungeon
The "Red Skeleton" enemy hits like a truck and will be tweaked!
The "Shader Compiler" might look like it has frozen, but it isn't. Just takes a tad of time to get done.
i.e. Might look like it is stuck at 189/711 for a minute but it will get done
I'm still working on the multiplayer for the game to get that working properly - as that is one of the features I wanted originally for the game.
The "Bronze Key" item can drop from enemies - same as the other keys, but this will be fixed in the next update so that there is only ONE Bronze that you can keep but have to find it first ;D
I'm sure there are a few more issues but that's the gist of it.
Here's what has been added/fixed:
The new quest-giving NPC "Kiege" will help push you towards each dungeon with quests to complete. He is located right where the player spawns in Cirrus village.
The Castle Ruins is now available! You can explore floors 1 through 5 for now, as I will be working on 6 - 10 at a later date.
You can now level up Milgrir's skills so that his skills aren't that weak anymore.
As I had mentioned before about the portals above, these new ones appear much more appropriate for the game.
That's it for now, but will have another update for the game ready (hopefully) by next Sunday (11/30). If anything changes, I'll keep ya'll posted. Again, my apologies for the (very) long wait for this update. I had a lot to do for work and a family that always comes first. That being said, I will always continue to work on this game until I can no longer would be able to (i.e. dead) :D
