Secure the Black Gold
I am excited to announce the latest major update for Terrors of War, introducing oil wells as a new layer of resource management to generate ongoing income, complemented by numerous critical bug fixes, unit crushing with tanks, and balance adjustments.
New Features & Mechanics
New menu scene included in the update.
Oil wells have been added to the game and tanks can crush units!
Oil well mechanics: Placing oil wells, has to be placed on an oil deposit. Will generate income every 15 seconds. When destroyed, anyone else can build an oil well at that spot. Oil wells generate 500 every 15 seconds.
Buildings can now be built tightly against each other. This is just for personal preference, since it's not always recommended.
Balance Changes
Flame troopers have decreased damage.
Gatherers now gather less from caches. 150 per trip and caches have 20 000 supplies instead of 50 000. Forcing you to use oil wells whenever you can.
I've adjusted the AI difficulties for better balance overall. Easy mode is now a bit stronger, Medium is a bit weaker, Hard is much weaker than before, and Insane is a bit stronger than the previous Hard but much weaker than the old Insane.
Bug Fixes & Improvements
Bunkers now act same as world buildings will act later, the building gets damaged, not the units.
Buildings on fire lose health immediately and keeps ramping up.
No more 360 crane movements occur with builders.
Enemy build options no longer show.
Flamethrowers are forced off at death, if on.
Unit and tank targeting updated to attack active nearby threats.
Vehicle HMG accuracy greatly improved and do a bit more damage.
Selection box fallback code added to prevent sticky selection boxes at low fps.
