TEKO changes
I feel kind of weird, confused, and dissociated.
I've made quite a few changes and fixes, aiming to leave Early Access. I'll leave the commit log here, but unordered, and without differentiating whether they were modifications to the beta or the live version... because I don't even remember.
To give you an idea of how lost I am: a few days ago I spent hours trying to figure out why the Orange Tube wasn't working, but in the end, it was because I was playing with the Hacker Pocket (-1 draw XD).
Anyway, here are the patch notes:
Improved the buying animation for all items in the shop.
Improved the discard/draw animation (more fluid). Also, shadows now appear behind the chips when they travel from the pocket to the hand or from the hand to the pocket.
Improved the discard animation at the end of the round (upon winning it).
Fixed a bug that made it impossible to turn the starting card into a Sinister when starting a run with Chosen/Warlock Pockets. Instead of working properly, the card was deleted.
Optimized and fixed a memory leak when hovering over certain buttons and when rendering stickers. I also improved some logic to make the game consume fewer processing resources.
New shader that slightly improves the saturation/contrast of the whole game. It's very subtle but it looks great.
Fixed The Beast Card. It wasn't working at all before.
Improved screen animation fluidity after winning rounds.
The numberless trait is now rendered correctly when doing draw/discard.
The Codex screen no longer breaks after finishing a run with Chosen Pocket.
Now, chips with a Stagnant Sticker that stay in the hand when making a play will trigger an animation when adding base multiplication.
Improved the height consistency of floating texts when certain steps are executed (for example, the red text for the special combo used to appear higher up; now everything is at the same Y-axis point).
Fixed the outglow of mods and the blender on the selection screen.
Now, every time you gain money, the money counter should play a scale-up animation, and a scale-down animation when you lose it.
All miniature chips (the representation of selected chips above the hand) should now play a short spawn and travel animation from the right instead of doing it in a random and erratic way.
The logic that made some relics play animations when entering the shop had disappeared; this has now been fixed.
Flowar Card now executes properly.
There shouldn't be any more resize issues in windowed mode.
If the chip only has Extra Base, the tooltip and its text won't look as small in the miniatures section.
The hovered sprite of shop perks will no longer appear right after finishing a round; it was an annoying visual thing.
Aligned some elements on the memories screen for better aesthetic consistency.
Chips that get destroyed for having Mikello Card will now play the same disintegration effect as in other cases.
Miniature chips shouldn't disappear when using the Green Tube.
Fixed a visual bug that caused the frames of relics underneath the top relic to show when dragging and dropping it.
That's all. I really want to rest. I'm mentally exhausted. Sorry. Lately, I don't have many reasons to push myself so hard on the game, and yet I still do it, as seriously and dedicatedly as I can. Even though I haven't sold more than 10 copies in the last 2 months, it seems my willpower is stronger than anything.
I have HUNDREDS of content ideas, but since my mental health has deteriorated and I literally make nothing doing this, I'll have to rest more than usual. I want to push through to leave EA, but I don't want that to be the end of TEKO. Anyway, it's already a very complete game and can be fully enjoyed right now.
I feel really bad. In a few days, I'll be seeing professionals, getting rediagnosed first, and then I'll see how to proceed. I just wanted to let you know I'm not having my best moments right now. Despite the emotional instability, as you can see, I'm working hard. But I think that's the cause of my problems: being obsessed with finishing this game.
So, without a doubt, please know that I'm already finishing this up, at least the first big finished version. As I said before, I promise to keep up with monthly content expansions if there are people willing to help me test, and if there's a minimum audience interested in completing the game.
