TEKO changes
Hi. As you may know, I've made several announcements lately, but I forgot to mention something.
I actually couldn't decide whether to do it or not, but now it's very clear to me. I know I've been mediocre in the past, but I keep working to be a better version of myself. And, above all, I've learned that I need to take my time with things. As the months go by I'm much more patient. That's why, temporarily, the TEKO DEMO won't be visible on the store.
I'm currently doing a complete overhaul of the DEMO so it matches the full game exactly (but with limited content). The reason I don't want more people playing the current version is because it's full of bugs and is way too different from the EA: The EA version is truly incomparable, it's far better than the demo... so that difference means I'm sabotaging myself and generating defamation for my own game. Since the demo is bad, the result is counterproductive; rather than promoting the full version, it drives new players away. I made a huge mistake. I shouldn't have left such an immature demo up.
But well, that's how I learn. With mistakes, because nobody taught me. It's simply a matter of time before everything gets much better.
At the same time, I want you to know that I'm working very hard. As you've probably seen, after finishing TEKO's base content, I've been working in the shadows. I'm progressing very fast. And when I have news, I'm going to need your help to thoroughly test everything before making the version public.
u9.0 is going to be the biggest rework. It's crazy. I can't give too many spoilers, as I feel it's unnecessary; I want to save the surprise for the end. I can only assure you that everything is going to change. It will even be shocking at first, and it'll take players some time to get used to the change. This is going to be extreme.
And, based on the lessons I've learned from my past failures, I understand I need to take my time. I haven't felt burnt out for several days. This is a good sign. I'm starting to recover after pushing myself so hard. Right now I feel really good. I'm making a lot of significant changes, but without any pressure.
The only thing that worries me sometimes is that players might suffer because I'm inexperienced. There are many reasons why, due to my shortcomings in development, a player might not have a good time. Especially in the aesthetics, there are a lot of flaws. But there are also people who might complain about the balance (even though u8.0 is very forgiving).
But, at least I offer dialogue all the time, and that's my biggest strength: the connection with the community. That's why, if you have questions, want help to become a better player, or simply want to give feedback or chat, I can help you out on the Discord server.
I'm not going to promise anything, that would be absurd. I don't know what life has in store for me. The only thing I know is that right now I'm working many hours a day, and not only that, I have it in mind to make this a definitive project, something that is finished. I can't guarantee it, but that's what I'm thinking right now. And the players who have tried the EA version already know where this is heading; it's obvious the potential shines through.
So, that's what I wanted to tell you today: I'm highly focused on u9.0, which will take quite a while to come out but will be worth it and will be a historic milestone in TEKO's development; and, for the time being, the Demo won't be available (I'm really sorry, but it's for everyone's own good and it will pay off in the long run).
The next step after u9.0 is creating new graphical assets outside the game, like trailers, screenshots, a new description—basically an aesthetic revamp.
I don't want to hype you up any more. There are still many weeks to go. I hope you can join me in this, I swear this is my life, I only think about this, I love TEKO. And I'm happy that you're also slowly falling in love with this project. Thanks for everything.
