Team Ice Cream VR changes
Welcome back to another weekly update!
For those new here, we post weekly updates with a goal of being completely transparent with our progress. Comments are open to everyone and we would love to hear your thoughts!
So What's New?
Unlike last week, which was our first update post and as such quite the novel, this one is going to be more reasonable. We also discovered that Steam has some pretty handy formatting tools!
Let's start by covering our goals from last week and see how we did:
Plans for Week 8
Complete audio overhaul- Done
Complete order bubble overhaul- Done
Complete customer scoring- DoneStart work on menu system (planned completion by end of Week 9) - Started and on track
We managed to complete all the tasks we set out to do and made some good headway on the menu system. It is currently fully controllable by keyboard and controller, but VR is still a work-in-progress.
Steam post image We also ran into a customer who seemed to have an... Uhh... Adverse reaction to his ice cream? ːsteamfacepalmː Still gave a good tip, though!
More Details
[expand type="details"] We completed the audiovisual overhaul, which significantly improved the look of the map, making it look and sound more fun and alive. We also finished improving the order bubble, making it much more apparent what the customer wants.
More importantly, the tips have been properly balanced. There were some issues with extremely picky customers, whose expectations have been tamed. [/expand]
That's it for this week! - See? Much more reasonable!
Plans for Week 9
| Task | Status | ETA |
|---|---|---|
| Finish the menu system | In Progress | End of Week 9 |
| Start work on post-game screen | Not Started | End of Week 10 |
| Implement actual menus using the new system | Not Started | End of Week 11 |
