Taxi Chaos 2 changes
We’re back with Update 1.0.2, and first off: thank you. The amount of feedback, reports, and new players jumping into Taxi Chaos 2 has been awesome to see. Keep it coming when you tell us what’s working, what’s not, and where things feel off, it directly helps us prioritize and fix the right stuff.
This update focuses on quality-of-life, stability, and performance, while also adding some new gameplay variety. We’ve been tackling areas where players could get stuck, where progression and Arcade flow needed smoothing, and where the experience needed clearer signposting and more consistency.
Not everything is solved yet but we’re actively working through reports and improving Taxi Chaos 2 step by step. If you encounter bugs, glitches have feature request the best way to reach out to us is at support@current.games
1.0.2 Patch Notes
Additions
Goal & Shift Variety
Added 5 more goal types to add variety to Career and Arcade Mode.
Arcade Mode
Cash earned in Arcade sessions now counts towards the player’s wallet.
Threats & Obstacles
Introduced Taxi Area as a new threat:
Taxi Areas have TaxiBots spawning from orbital strikes
Taxi Areas have fortified walls creating a perimeter around the area
Hacking Tool Tier 2 & 3 can temporarily disable Taxi Areas
Tank Territories and Taxi Areas now have a UI element that signifies when the player is inside the area.
TaxiTank spawns more often / more consistently.
TaxiTank marker changed from orange to red.
Haptic Feedback
Introduced haptic feedback.
Improvements
Tutorial
Removed a few barriers to make navigation easier.
Reduced the amount of TaxiBots chasing the player.
Vehicle Behavior
Overhaul of Drift Vehicles aimed at stability and mobility:
More stable / less slippery steering
Increased acceleration
Improved braking
Change to handbrake
Increased Anti-Tipping Force.
TaxiBots
Slightly increased the range of the Sentry Tower.
Threats & Obstacles
A pass has been done across all Road Obstacles & Hazards to make it less likely for the player to get stuck.
Improved Tank Territory behavior and made it more consistent.
Special Customers
Heavy Customers no longer cause the car to tilt to the side of the heavy object.
Slightly increased the force of the Rocket Boost customer’s rocket.
Rocket Customer will now appear in earlier levels in Arcade Mode.
Rocket Customer will already appear in Story Mode from Chapter 2 onward.
VFX
Improved navigation arrow consistency.
Updated VFX for floating tree discs.
SFX
Reduced how often customers chime in to comment on your driving.
UI
Changed ability icons to “?” for abilities that require player progress through Story Mode to unlock them.
Added SFX to various button inputs.
Performance Optimizations
Various optimizations across the game to improve framerate.
Physics system performance improvements.
Per-object physics and collision optimization.
Rendering performance improvements.
View distance optimization for important world objects.
Audio performance improved.
Performance optimization for traffic, customers and TaxiBots.
Default graphics on PC set to Medium to reduce initial load on Steam Deck & lower-end devices.
Bug Fixes
Stability
Addressed various crashes that could occur during different parts of the game.
Arcade Mode
Fixed an issue where the pipe burst event could not be completed.
Fixed an issue where stats wouldn’t show when entering the Arcade Mode menu.
Vehicle Behavior
Fixed vehicle thinking it’s airborne while driving on water.
Customers
Customers no longer get angry sometimes after a successful delivery.
J.E.A.N. no longer sometimes incorrectly assumes you failed a customer and berates you.
VFX
Resolved missing collision sparks.
Resolved unintended blue outline around cones.
SFX
Added J.E.A.N. voice line for Shiokaze Park destination.
Customization
Fixed the Crabby Cap appearing inverted when equipped.
World Events & Level Layout
Fixed various minor collision issues.
Fixed pipe grabber animation in the Route Hazard between Magport and Shiokaze.
Fixed pedestrians near the Magport South Spire appearing unnaturally tall.
Fixed player getting stuck in Sentry Tower.
Fixed player respawning under the water.
Reduced areas where player could get stuck in road obstacles.
Fixed shifts where landslides could be destroyed by other objects, making it impossible for the resolver customer to be completed.
UI
Markers for completed goals now disappear.
Cutscenes
Resolved small tank model on Cleo’s workbench having turned wheels.
Misc.
Improved loading screen length to minimize situations where partially loaded environment can be seen & unintended SFX can be heard.
