changedWhat We Are Fixing (The "To-Do" List)Steam Deck Optimization: Our lead art engineer is officially on a mission. We are optimizing textures and controller mapping to ensure a "Great on Deck" experience for Early Access.
changedThe Erotic Scene UI & TutorialsWe intentionally gave players a "director’s toolkit" for the adult scenes, but we realize we threw you into the deep end without a lifejacket.
addedThe Erotic Scene UI & TutorialsThe Fix: We are implementing a clear, concise tutorial for the module to help you master the controls and get the most out of the experience. Additionally, we are considering adding a cinematic mode that will provide a “hands-off” approach so you can focus on, you know, taking care of other things while enjoying the adult content.

Steam Next Fest Post-Mortem: Tamer: King of Dinosaurs

Hello Everyone!

Steam Next Fest has come to a close recently, and the team at Ride the Lion Studios is floored by the response. What started as a small project fueled by a 6-person team and a "stretched penny" budget has turned into something thousands of you have now played.

We wanted to address the feedback we’ve gathered and lay out our launch roadmap.

What We Are Fixing (The "To-Do" List)

Your feedback was incredibly consistent, which makes our job much easier. We are already hard at work on the following:

  • Chase Module & Camera: We hear you - the controls need more "weight," and the camera needs to stop fighting the player. We are tightening the responsiveness and smoothing out the tracking.

  • Audio & EQ: Some voices were boisterous, while others were whispers. We are doing a full pass on volume normalization and EQ to ensure a professional audio experience.

  • Environment Navigation: We’re smoothing out the "invisible snags" in the terrain to prevent players from getting stuck during walking sequences and falling through the floor.

  • Steam Deck Optimization: Our lead art engineer is officially on a mission. We are optimizing textures and controller mapping to ensure a "Great on Deck" experience for Early Access.

The Erotic Scene UI & Tutorials

We intentionally gave players a "director’s toolkit" for the adult scenes, but we realize we threw you into the deep end without a lifejacket.

  • The Fix: We are implementing a clear, concise tutorial for the module to help you master the controls and get the most out of the experience. Additionally, we are considering adding a cinematic mode that will provide a “hands-off” approach so you can focus on, you know, taking care of other things while enjoying the adult content.

Regarding Combat

As many noted, combat was absent from the demo. We replaced our old system late in development with something much more engaging, but we refused to ship a "half-baked" version for Next Fest.

  • The ResultThe new, polished combat system is fully integrated and will be playable starting on Day 1 of Early Access. We are also planning to update the demo before EA to gather feedback on combat and other features yet to be revealed.

Thank You

Whether you loved the demo or gave us "tough love" feedback, you are helping a small indie studio realize a three-year dream. We are dedicated to making adult games that balance deep storytelling with genuine gameplay.

Have more thoughts? Drop them in the comments below. We’re reading EVERYTHING.

Sincerely,

The Ride the Lion Studios Team
