Version 0.7.7b is focused on one thing: making the game feel better moment-to-moment.

This update improves a lot of the interfaces players interact with constantly, adds clarity to progression and quests, and pushes the visuals further toward the atmosphere the game has been evolving into lately.

Upgrade UI Rework

The player, powersuit, and katana upgrade screens have all been redesigned.

Upgrades are now presented as holographic blueprint-style panels with glowing outlines and cleaner presentation overall. The old UI worked functionally, but the new look makes upgrading feel much more connected to the sci-fi aesthetic of the world.

On top of that, upgrades are now performed by holding the upgrade button instead of clicking once. It sounds small, but the interaction feels dramatically more satisfying and gives upgrades a stronger sense of weight and progression.

To make onboarding smoother for new players, the player upgrade UI now stays hidden until you actually have Moxies available to spend. Early gameplay should now feel less overwhelming and easier to understand.

Health and stamina upgrades also now include proper descriptions so it's clearer what each improvement actually affects.

Questlog Improvements

The questlog received a major readability pass.

Each quest now displays its own icon, making it much easier to scan through objectives quickly. Subquests also now have bordered sections and improved backgrounds to better separate information visually.

There’s also a new map indicator system for NPC-related quests. If a quest requires talking to a specific NPC, that NPC will now be marked directly on the map UI. No more wandering around trying to remember who you needed to find.

Visual Upgrades

A lot of visual polish went into this update as well.

Smoke effects that are purely cosmetic are now rendered with a more realistic style, while gameplay-relevant smoke still keeps the puffier, more readable toon-like visuals. This keeps combat readability intact while allowing environmental effects to look significantly better.

Planets also received a large visual overhaul. They now lean much more toward realistic rendering rather than the older toony appearance, which helps space environments feel more immersive and atmospheric.

Fixes

Several annoying issues were cleaned up in this patch:

  • Flying enemies no longer stop flying after being hit by the player

  • Fixed shadow issues inside houses and spaceships

  • Fixed enemies sometimes moving at incorrect speeds

0.7.7b is a smaller update overall, but it touches a surprising number of things that players constantly see and interact with. The game should now feel cleaner, clearer, and more polished across the board.
