We have a couple of different topics this week! So let's dive in...

Mastery Rebalance

We've been paying close attention to your feedback and something has come through loud and clear - the base version of Talented has a lot of room to be more challenging in the early mastery levels.

This has crept up on us, but shouldn't be too surprising as since 1.0 release we've added a variety of new core features that allow you to power up your build even more such as Mythic Talents and Ability Upgrades.

To address this we're making Mastery 0 a fair chunk more challenging and in exchange we'll tuning a couple of the more frustrating Mastery Bonuses. Overall our goal is to make the game around the same difficulty at Mastery 35 but more engaging for new players.

Difficulty++

  • Enemies now gain a short speed boost and are immune to knockup when they are first spawned in standard runs.

  • Enemy waves will now always prioritise as many different directions as possible when spawning in standard runs. (they will no longer spawn from a single lane unless more than 4 enemies are in the wave)

Difficulty--

  • The Stronger Elites Mastery Bonus now increases elite Maximum HP by 10% (down from 15%)

  • The Stronger Elites Mastery Bonus now increases elite Movement Speed by 8% (down from 10%)

  • The Less Health Points Mastery Bonus now reduces start of Night HP by 15% (down from 25%)

Overally we're hoping that these changes should make for more exciting low mastery runs and even open up some more early game options in high mastery now you won't be reduced to 10-20 Health Points at the very start of the run!

Community Requests

We've added a couple of new features requested by our community that you can expect in 1.4!

We've added a new tab in the Compendium just for Ability Upgrades. Before, they were added to each of the classes individually leading to multiple copies of the same scroll being visible. This keeps them all in one neat location!

You can now click on each of the four lanes to change the facing direction of Ed! Better yet, while holding down left click he will attack in that direction.

Next devlog will be a huge milestone for us with the celebration of 100 Devlogs of Talented! We're taking that oppertunity to show off a completely new brand of Mythic Talent being added to each of our 8 Classes.

Stay Talented
