Operators,

We’re continuing to shape how a run in Synclit feels — how you move through the mind, how you interact with it, and how it reacts back.

Memory Rifts & Emotion Cards

Memory Rifts are becoming a core part of the experience.

They now directly affect your run. During these interactions, you can obtain Emotion Cards — Fear, Anger, Joy, Disgust, Sadness, and Surprise. ːsteamhappyːːsteamsadːːsteamboredːːsteamfacepalmːːsteammockingːːsteamhappyː

Each choice you make inside a memory changes your deck and defines how you approach combat.

Core Run Indicators

At the same time, we’re building the run around three key indicators visible on the HUD:

  • Potential reflects how stable your presence is inside the simulation. If it drops too low, the connection collapses.

  • Integrity represents how far you’ve progressed through the mind — reaching 100% brings you to the final phase.

  • Risk defines how strongly the consciousness reacts to your actions.

Risk & Reactions

Every interaction with the patient’s mind increases Risk.

The more you push, the higher the chance that the mind will begin to defend itself.

At any moment, an interaction can trigger a response — forcing you into combat where you need to suppress that resistance.

Not all choices are equal. Some memories can be altered safely, while others have a much stronger impact — and raise Risk faster.

Winning a combat resets Risk — but only temporarily. Steam post image

A More Reactive Simulation

The simulation itself is becoming more responsive.

Memory Rifts now act as entry points into memories. Interacting with them pulls you deeper into the subconscious — but also increases the chance of a reaction.

System drones attempt to stabilize the environment during the run.

We’re also improving Personality Blockers — making their behavior clearer, more distinct, and more reactive to what the player is doing.

WIP Status

All of this is still in progress.

We’re testing how these systems connect — how risk builds tension, how emotions shape your build, and how far you can push before the system pushes back.

What’s Next

A playable demo is coming soon.

Wishlist Synclit to be notified when access opens.

— Dave The more you interact… the more it notices you.
