fixedIntroduction: Several bugs have been fixed, still working on others.
changedAdditions/Improvements: 1. Some tweaks were made to the AI.
fixedFixes: 1. Captives brought back by the Boarding Party were disappearing shortly after being taken to Security. FIXED 2. When initiating a patrol before fully emerged from hyperspace, game was freezing. FIXED - you cannot initiate a Search or Patrol until you have fully emerged from hyperspace. 3. You cannot downgrade from RED ALERT if a threat is detected. FIXED - you can now downgrade from RED ALERT even if there is a threat as long as the AAS is switched to manual. 4. In the Career Statistics Display, if the total for Passengers or Captives exceeds 65565, then the number was wrong - FIXED 5. In orbit of a planet in the same system as a colony, torps fired at an orbital target would hit an Orb Fort (but causing no damage), which was orbiting the colony and not the planet your ship is orbiting. FIXED 6. A couple other minor or secret (i.e., items not revealed to the player) bugs were fixed.
addedAdditions/Improvements: 1. A new Hot Key shortcut has been added for the Performance Mode. This switches between two methods of writing some data to the screen, using either DOS functions or the BIOS functions. One is slower (NORMAL Mode) than the other (TURBO Mode). The default value is TURBO Mode, but some players want to slow combat down and like to temporarily switch it to NORMAL Mode. This can be done through the Settings Panel in the Sign-On Options ("C" - change settings) or in the game itself by accessing the same panel through the Computer/Special Services. This takes time to do and is a bit clumsy, so the new shortcut has been added: [Ctrl][M] (for Mode). It can also now be changed through the Hot Keys command [Ctrl][H]. You can see the current setting of the switch in Engineering/Engineering Data/Logistics. 2. An enhancement has been made to upgraded probes. In the Operations table, you could view the location of the probe currently highlighted, or you could use the multi-probe selection feature to view the location of multiple probes. There is now the option to view the location of ALL the probes. If you select [S]how locn without multiple probes being selected, it will ask you if you want to view the locations of all the probes. If "Y" then the Ops Table disappear and you will see the locations of the probes. A new feature added for this and multiple-probes option is that the color of the probes will match their mode as displayed in the Ops Table. Destroyed (by any means) probes are also now included (all in red). There is also a shortcut for viewing all the probes. Press [Shift][S] instead of just [S] from the probes menu.
changedFixes: 1. In the Boarding Display after the enemy ship has been captured, the number of captives taken did not include the Space Marines and thus did not match the number of captives transported to your ship - FIXED 2. When you have the LOW SUP warning, captives are not fed and gradully die off, but they were not dying fast enough. Also, if you went to secuirty during this time, the captives health could be shown as "good" instead of "poor" - FIXED 3. Killed captives from LOW SUP or LOW POW (when all the remaining captives are killed) or normal execution does not update the Mission Tally - FIXED 4.The message from a supply ship that it is running low on cargo and headed to another supply ship did not include the name of the target ship - FIXED 5. Ship could downgrade from RED ALERT and drop shields when going into orbit around a UGA planet - FIXED 6. Setup for Mission 3-E modified to ensure there are at least 4 planets that can be bombarded into submission. 7. When orbiting a hostile TL5+ planet that has bot been surveyed and you send a message demanding it surrender, it would respond with an insult message, even though it was unsruveyed. It will now not respond (with a possible rare exception) - FIXED
