changedColony ImprovementsThe biggest change in the release patch will be the addition of Colony Improvements , a mechanic that replaces the previous Infrastructure system.
addedColony ImprovementsThis new Colony Improvements mechanic shakes things up quite a bit. On every colony, there are remnants of pre-collapse buildings that provided its people with safety, food, or other necessities. Of course, after the collapse, many of these buildings fell into disrepair.
changedColony ImprovementsHow it works Each planet is generated with a set of random colony improvements. Our aim was to make every colony feel unique in its own way, instead of creating a build pattern that you would replicate across every system.
changedColony ImprovementsMost installations start out abandoned, and you will have to repair them to benefit from their effects, which costs time and credits. The effects are worth it, though! Each colony improvement will net you a certain benefit. The Security Center, for example, gives your house a +20(!) bonus to its Security score.
changedColony ImprovementsMost installations provide their benefit only to the direct ruler of that colony, i.e. not all the installations in your vassals' colonies will be useful to you. However some installations benefit all allied rulers in an area. Hovering over the installation shows the range on the map.
addedOther additionsOne piece of feedback we received quite commonly was that you did not have enough control over love and romance. That's why we're adding a seduce mechanic to the game that allows you to bring your schemes to fruition.

We did say September, didn't we?

Hello everyone!

Just last week, we mentioned that Star Dynasties would be leaving Early Access in September. Well, the exact date is closer than many of you would have expected, because Star Dynasties is fully releasing on September 1st!

Below, we're going to be diving a little deeper into some of the changes coming with the full release patch.

Colony Improvements

The biggest change in the release patch will be the addition of Colony Improvements, a mechanic that replaces the previous Infrastructure system.

Before, a colony's wealth was determined by a single parameter known as 'Infrastructure'. You could improve your infrastructure, and with it your income, by spending some credits and waiting a few turns.

This new Colony Improvements mechanic shakes things up quite a bit. On every colony, there are remnants of pre-collapse buildings that provided its people with safety, food, or other necessities. Of course, after the collapse, many of these buildings fell into disrepair.

How it works Each planet is generated with a set of random colony improvements. Our aim was to make every colony feel unique in its own way, instead of creating a build pattern that you would replicate across every system.

Most installations start out abandoned, and you will have to repair them to benefit from their effects, which costs time and credits. The effects are worth it, though! Each colony improvement will net you a certain benefit. The Security Center, for example, gives your house a +20(!) bonus to its Security score.

Most installations provide their benefit only to the direct ruler of that colony, i.e. not all the installations in your vassals' colonies will be useful to you. However some installations benefit all allied rulers in an area. Hovering over the installation shows the range on the map.

For example, the Defense Platform Fabricator provides a bonus to any Improve Defenses assignment within 3 starlanes from the system in which it is located. As a result, you will focus on repairing the installations that complement your goals in a particular region.

Other additions

One piece of feedback we received quite commonly was that you did not have enough control over love and romance. That's why we're adding a seduce mechanic to the game that allows you to bring your schemes to fruition.

We are also adding the ability to name newly born children in your house, instead of assigning them one randomly. This will make the story of your dynasty that much more personal!

We're so excited to launch into full release, and we hope you are too! Let us know your thoughts on the upcoming changes on the Steam forums, or on Discord.
