Spooker changes
The momentum isn't slowing down! We’ve been keeping our heads down, listening to your feedback, and working hard to make sure the game runs like an absolute dream—whether you're playing at a desk or on the go.
This week, our main focus was under-the-hood performance, Steam Deck love, and taking the first big steps toward welcoming players from all over the world.
Here is what is rolling out in Update 0.demo.139:
🔋 Performance & Steam Deck Love
- Battery Life BoostWe have massively reduced both GPU and CPU load across the board. If you're playing on a handheld, you should see an average of about 2 extra hours of battery life on Steam Deck!
Steam Deck Optimization: We’ve specifically tuned and optimized the graphics to make sure the Deck experience is smoother and more crisp than ever.
Check out our write up on how we did this here!
🌍 Going International (Work In Progress!)
First Steps into Localization: We are officially starting to localize Spooker! Early translations and UI adjustments are now live for Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, Chinese, German, and French.
⚠️ Note: This is a major work-in-progress. As a small team, we are fully committed to getting this right, which means UI repositioning and text tweaks will continue over the coming weeks and months. If you notice any translations that feel a bit "off," please let us know so we can fix them!
🎨 UI & Visual Polished
- Sizer SettingsWe have increased the overall UI size of the settings menu for better readability. Hang tight—full dynamic UI scaling is coming soon!
Aiming & Alignment: Modified and refined the aiming decal as well as the white and black ball trail VFX.
- Menu CleanupFixed up and polished the post-processing effects in the main menu.
🎵 Audio & Atmosphere
- New Boss TrackFeel the pressure! We’ve added a brand-new, live-recorded instrumental track to boss battles to really amp up the stakes.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Spin AlignmentFixed a pesky physics bug where applying horizontal spin was causing the cue ball to spin in the wrong direction.
Thank you all for the incredible support, the stream clips, and the constant feedback. Grab your deck, try out the new performance boosts, and let us know what you think of the new boss track!
Good luck out there! 🎱✨
