The Speed Demons 2 demo is now available, and will be featured in the upcoming Steam Next Fest. The demo contains a small slice of the game in terms of content, but the game is generally close to completion, and the full release is expected within the next few months.
If you got to this post without knowing much about the game: Speed Demons 2 is a cel-shaded top-down/side-scrolling arcade racing game with tons of traffic, extreme speeds, and lots of vehicles, modes, and gameplay variety. It's easy to pick up and play, and a gamepad is highly recommended.
DEMO VS. FULL GAME
Speed Demons 2's demo has most of the features of the main game, with upgrades being the only major feature not present. There are 14 vehicles and 22 races in the demo, which compares to over 70 vehicles and 500 races in the full game. [There are a few hidden vehicles/races as well, though I'll let someone else reveal how to find them.]
The races in the demo will probably make it into the full game, though likely arranged in a different order. Generally the full game will have longer vehicle-focused series (columns of races), with a few of the less-exciting vehicles being paired together in a single series. There will also be series in the full game that focus on specific highways or modes, and a small portion which let you select from a few different vehicles.
RADIANGAMES 2025 RELEASES
Speed Demons 2's demo is the 3rd significant release for Radiangames in the past month, after Fireball 2 and Rhythm Storm's 2025 Demo. The Rhythm Storm demo will be joining Speed Demons 2's in the Steam Next Fest. I don't think it's "recommended" to put 2 demos into next fest at once, but both games are releasing later this summer, so it makes some sense.
I expect to update both demos multiple times in the coming weeks, so feedback, reviews, suggestions are more than welcome. The full games will also benefit from your input. If you prefer to send feedback privately rather than publicly, please email luke@radiangames.com.
