Hello Souls!

We’re continuing to improve Soul Maze based on your playtest feedback. This update brings several changes to make the experience smoother, more balanced, and more immersive.

Light Soul right-click ability rework

The Light Soul’s right-click ability has been completely reworked based on playtester feedback.

Previously, this ability would make your character stand still and project a large beam of light into the sky, making you visible through walls to other Light Souls and easier to locate for the strategist.

However, this ability was rarely used. Players usually stayed together, making it unnecessary.

During the final escape phase, however, players can get separated after being hit by a Dark Soul, making it difficult to regroup without the strategist.

To address this, the ability has been redesigned into a mobile coordination tool.

While holding right-click, you carry your lantern and can move while using it, allowing you to actively locate and communicate with your teammates.

While active:

  • You can run and jump, but not dash or climb

  • You can see other Light Souls through walls (highlighted)

  • You can communicate with them from a distance (radio)

This change makes it easier to regroup and improves coordination, especially during the final escape.

A smoother experience

  • Reduced lag and improved overall performance

  • Technical optimizations for a more stable co-op experience

  • Bug fixes based on playtest feedback

Better statue balance

Statues have been adjusted to provide a more varied experience. You now have a higher chance of getting different bonuses, reducing frustrating repetitions.

New bonus

A new bonus has been added: Unlimited energy for 15 seconds, perfect for turning the tide in critical situations.

More intense encounters

A new music track now plays when a fight against a dark soul begins, increasing the tension of these moments.

Improved trials

Some trials from Judgment Tier 1 have been rebalanced to provide a more consistent and enjoyable level of difficulty.

We’ll keep improving the world and gameplay of Soul Maze as development continues.

See you in the maze! The Soul Maze Team ✨
