addedFirst up I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who's been playing the game, it's been so lovely to see you all getting so stuck (I've seen people nearly done with W2 already!!), and thank you to all the lovely reviews that you've been leaving. Thanks to all of you, we are now on the new & trending charts on the homepage!!
addedThe main thing is added a factorio-esque Q picker type shortcut. Technically the game already had this with middle-click but that's 1. not remappable, 2. doesn't cover clearing a picked up item, and 3 not gamepad usable. So I've put the functionality into gamepad, and made it a key on PC you can rebind ("Drop / Select"), defaulted to "Q".
changedI also changed the input/output routing cycle, from OUTPUT => NONE => INPUT to OUTPUT => INPUT => NONE as i think this saves on some wrenching in normal setups. There's a few other bits too, I've listed them below.
addedAdded a Drop / Select shortcut (default "Q", but can remap in controls - on gamepad it's LSTICK)
changedDrop / Select will either drop the item in your hand or 'select' what you're looking at in your hotbar if you have it, (i.e. 'Select' a wire to equip wire, 'Select' a machine to equip the blueprint - this is the same 'Select' function as the mouse middle-click press that already exists)
changedChanged the routing cycle from OUTPUT - NONE - INPUT to OUTPUT - INPUT - NONE, which should reduce some wrenching

I also appreciate all of you for reaching out and leaving feedback - based on what a few people have said now I've made a few tweaks in this patch that I think should make things a bit nicer.

The main thing is added a factorio-esque Q picker type shortcut.

I've also tweaked pipe wrenching slightly, it should now feel a bit more 'correct' with less wrenching. You already have the ability to pre-set pipe directions when placing them with "R" (Y on gamepad), but now you can also hold wrench to toggle as you drag.

Direction cycling itself is a bit smarter now too, i.e. if you toggle a pipe next to a RIGHT arrow, the options it cycles through will start with RIGHT arrow rather than an arbitrary cycle of available directions.

I also changed the input/output routing cycle, from OUTPUT => NONE => INPUT to OUTPUT => INPUT => NONE as i think this saves on some wrenching in normal setups. There's a few other bits too, I've listed them below.

Any issues, as always let me know, hopefully it's a good start, if not then tell me and I'll get back at it <3 If you're enjoying the game, don't forget to leave a review!

# 1.1.0

  • Added a Drop / Select shortcut (default "Q", but can remap in controls - on gamepad it's LSTICK)

  • Drop / Select will either drop the item in your hand or 'select' what you're looking at in your hotbar if you have it, (i.e. 'Select' a wire to equip wire, 'Select' a machine to equip the blueprint - this is the same 'Select' function as the mouse middle-click press that already exists)

  • If nothing is found with 'Select' or mouse middle click it'll revert to your empty hand slot

  • You can now set splitter ratios before placing pipes next to them, however that direction will be ignored until you place the pipe

  • You can now hold to set directions on pipes to do multiple (this is an alternative to using the "R" shortcut to pre-set directions when placing pipes)

  • Changed the routing cycle from OUTPUT - NONE - INPUT to OUTPUT - INPUT - NONE, which should reduce some wrenching

  • Changed pipe direction cycling slightly so that neighbouring directions are prioritised in the cycle choices

  • Fixed corruption remaining highlighted in the overworld after leaving a level

  • Fixed "game/mobjs/mo_chefomatic.lua.39: attempt to index a nil value"

If you have issues with the latest patch, you can revert to the last patch by going to Manage > Properties > Game Versions and using the "last_patch" branch. This branch will always have the last stable update.
