Vikings, Today I'm pulling back the curtain on exactly where Skye is headed — from the launch of Skye Rebirth: Foundation, all the way through to Ragnarök 1.0. I believe in building this game alongside the community, so here's the full plan: every major patch, every headline feature, and my target timeline to get there.

What is Skye: Rebirth?

Rebirth is a Viking survival RPG set on a sprawling, handcrafted, Isle of Skye. Survive the elements, build settlements, forge alliances with NPC factions, delve into dungeons, fish the Lochs, farm the land, and fight everything from wolves to legendary warlords — alone or with friends in co-op multiplayer. I'm not making another base builder with a combat system bolted on.

The Roadmap

Patch Breakdown

0.1 — Foundation (Early Access Launch)

Target: June 2026

This is where it all begins. Skye: Rebirth launches into Early Access with all mechanics and features of Skye: The Misty Isle replaced and remade from scratch.

  • Full melee & ranged combat with combos, blocking, parrying, and executions

  • Socket-based building system with 25+ snap types

  • Complete survival loop — hunger, thirst, temperature, shelter, and seasons

  • Farming, fishing, and digging systems

  • NPC settlements with daily schedules, relationships, and trade

  • Faction & deity reputation systems

  • Dungeon exploration with room-based encounters

  • World events — raids, shipwrecks, caravans, extreme weather

  • Full quest and dialogue systems

  • Co-op multiplayer from day one

  • Controller support

0.2 — Tides of War

Target: Aug/Sep 2026

  • Sailing & boat building (Raft, Karve, Longship)

Target: Nov/Dec 2026

The world gets bigger — and more dangerous.

  • Expanded parkour — wall running, rope climbing, ziplines

  • Stealth & ambush system

  • Trap crafting for defence and hunting

  • Naval combat — ramming, boarding, sea raids

  • NPC job delegation

  • Ocean exploration with procedural islands

  • Ship expansion — new hull types and customization

0.4 — Blood & Bone

Target: Feb/Mar 2027

  • Full character creator with face, body, hair, scars, and tattoos

  • High-fidelity Metahuman characters

  • Town building with roads, zones, and NPC housing

  • Legendary threats that gate biome progression

  • Fishing V2 — rod & bait, ice fishing, rare catches

  • Biome-locked progression and earned masteries

0.5 — The Pack

Target: May/Jun 2027

You don't survive alone.

  • Jobs & vocations — Blacksmith, Hunter, Healer, Warrior, Scholar, Sailor, Farmer

  • War dog companion with trainable commands

  • Animal husbandry — breed and raise livestock

  • Full companion system with morale and loyalty

  • Tracking & hunting overhaul

0.6 — Whispers of Old

Target: Jul/Aug 2027

Uncover what came before.

  • Environmental storytelling — rune stones, old campsites, narrative world objects

  • Deep cave systems with unique biomes and resources

Target: Sep/Oct 2027

Target: Nov 2027

Claim what's yours.

0.9 — Fimbulvetr

Target: Dec 2027

The final test.

  • New Game+ / Prestige system

1.0 — Ragnarök (Full Release)

Target: Q4 2027 / Q1 2028 All systems complete. Polished. Balanced. The world of Skye — fully realized.

Skye

Rebirth has been in active development since 2025 and has been a long stressful road to now.

This isn't a prototype or patch for Skye

The Misty Isle.

By the time Foundation launches, Skye

Rebirth will ship with more features than Skye ever had. And every patch after that makes it deeper. I'm building the Viking survival RPG I've always wanted to play. Come build it with me.
