This is a relatively simple patch which is concerned with bugfixes, some mapping fixes, and fixes / improvements with the ending. This is part 1 of (likely 2) patches aimed at improving some of the ending stuff. This patch has very few major balance adjustments, but the next patch will have a number of them! Apologies for some of the patch notes for the ending being a bit cryptic, the goal is to not spoil any story with our patch notes! 😉
Patch Notes:
Combat / Movement Mechanics:
- MovementAdded a short buffer to repeat dodges at max speed after a previous dodge ends
Combat: The player is now invincible while climbing ladders
Bug Fixes / Adjustments:
- DialogueFixed an issue where centered text would sometimes be positioned incorrectly
- Dialogue / LocalizationFixed an NPC name in Yuril ("Randall's Wife") which wasn't translating correctly
Localization: "Points!" on the fishing minigame should now localize correctly for real
Misc: Dummies can now be hit quickly like MP statues and other objects
- Dummy MinigameDisabled ally revival during the event as was originally intended to prevent bugs
Jewels: Azotic jewel effect no longer applies to light and water magic, and the sfx is quieter when using ice / crystal now
- EndingFixed various animation and sprite issues in a few scenes
- EndingFixed some positioning of character movement during an important scene
- EndingFixed some instances of a character's name and portrait not appearing correctly during cutscenes
- EndingImproved a couple cutscenes that needed some love (more to come)
Ending: You can no longer attack an invisible enemy with magic in one the rooms
Ending: You can no longer change your equipment during the ending, causing bugs
- EndingRemoved a bugged idle animation
Veyrlorn / Boss: It should no longer be possible to get hit by a poison cloud if it's created just before the boss is defeated
- MogloreFixed an issue where the Jeff puzzle prompt messages wouldn't always update correctly
- EnemiesFixed an issue where the owl enemies sometimes wouldn't attack the player even though they were on the same elevation
- MenusFixed a bug where you could sometimes open the menu with "Escape" whenever menu was otherwise disabled
Mapping:
Parum Tunnel: Mapping fixes
Siltens / Siltens Overworld: Mapping fixes
Lethoral Canyon: Mapping fixes
- Bugfix / FellinoreIn Jack's cabin, fixed some layering issues
- Bugfix / OmdaleFixed a room where the grass couldn't be cut, and fixed a tiling issue with a bridge in another room
- Fellinore CemetaryFixed some tiling and layering issues
- EndingFixed some tiling and layering issues in one of the rooms
Balance:
- AttacksCloaked Figure (player controlled) red lightning damage was buffed by about 50% and it no longer holds the player in place for longer when it hits an enemy (hits much more rapidly). Also, cast sfx volume slightly reduced
