Shorekeeper changes
First of all, huge thanks to everyone who has been playing the demo, sharing their feedback, and helping make Shorekeeper better every single day. Your support means everything.
Before getting into the new features, there is an important note: this update will reset your current progress. Deep structural changes to the time/season system mean that older save files are no longer compatible. I apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as I build a stronger foundation for the game. Here is what is new in version 0.7.0:
New Content and Seasonal Mechanics:
Added 3 new crop types: Eggplant, Radish and Wheat (the game now features a total of 15 crops)
The calendar now starts from Spring instead of hot Summer
Each season now lasts 14 days (2 weeks) instead of 28 days to keep the gameplay loop fresh and dynamic
Planted crops are naturally watered if they are exposed to rain, storm, or snow for at least 10 in-game minutes
Added unique seasonal weather conditions (expect plenty of rain in Autumn to help water your fields naturally)
Watch your crops carefully: they can now rot if they are not harvested before the season ends (includes a 1-day grace period after the season change)
Changed the starting crop from Beetroot to Radish
Progression and Balancing
The Shipping Container quest is now a main story quest, unlocked right after the watering plants mission
Removed a progression-blocking mission (harvest crops), allowing you to advance quests without waiting around for crops to grow
Switched requirements: Watering Can now needs Copper instead of Iron, and the Fishing Rod now needs Iron instead of Copper
Reduced the pumpkin requirement in the Pumpkin Soup recipe from 3 to 1
Adjusted ore health (fewer hits needed to break rocks) and rebalanced ore counts in mines
Adjusted crop growth durations and updated buy/sell prices across the board
UI & Quality of Life:
Completely revamped Crop Info Tooltip: now dynamically shows detailed info for each growth state (Needs water, growing, ready, rotten)
New Item Acquired tooltip: much cleaner and more readable than the old floating text in world space
Added custom cursor icons that match Shorekeeper's art style and better illustrate interactions
Added arrow pointer helpers to some missions to guide you.
Bug Fixes:
Fixed an issue where picking up manually dropped items counted towards mission progress
Fixed combat mode getting stuck (music and camera not resetting) after the player dies
Fixed Drag-to-Split input causing items to be permanently deleted from the inventory
Fixed a bug where players could not swap two tools of the exact same type directly in the inventory
Fixed the currency UI displaying values from previous sessions on subsequent runs
Fixed gamepad virtual mouse synchronization issues with the hardware mouse cursor
Fixed cursor visibility issues when gamepad input was enabled
