We just pushed a fresh demo update for Shape Swarm ahead of Next Fest.

Over the last few days we’ve been tuning difficulty pacing and tightening combat feel — especially in the early minutes of a run.

Here’s what’s new:

âš¡ Improved Early-Game Flow

We made adjustments so builds come online faster and the opening feels more aggressive and rewarding.

You should feel powerful sooner… but the swarm still ramps up hard if you survive long enough.

💎 New Enemy Behavior Tweaks

Orbiting enemies now have more dynamic behavior, including:

  • Smoother movement corrections

  • More intentional dash timing

  • Better readability before aggressive bursts

The goal: more tension without randomness feeling unfair.

🎯 Ongoing Polish

  • Movement and spacing refinements

  • Minor balance adjustments

  • Internal tuning to improve overall game feel

This will be the final demo update before Steam Next Fest goes live.

If you haven’t played recently, now’s a great time to jump back in and test your best build.

And if you’ve been enjoying the demo — please consider leaving feedback or adding the full game to your Wishlist. It genuinely helps a small indie studio more than you’d think.

See you in the swarm.
