Ahoy Captains!
Build 3916 is now up on Playtest. As always, players who join the playtest will have access to content in testing as well as previews of the latest content.
Crafting, Equipment, and Upgrades!
This build introduces crafting based progression to the game. All rooms come pre-equipped with equipment (Ancient Ammo Feeder, Ancient Tolancha Oil Engine, etc.), which will allow you to use the rooms straightaway. But if you want to grow stronger, you'll have to find equipment blueprints and craft new equipment.
Crafting recipes are dropped from a new set of missions involving a mysterious Navy commander seen in the opening cutscene. Once you finish the Medbay restoration mission, a new fight is available near Colmeda Chain. Completing this series of missions will reward you equipment crafting recipes for the Colmeda Region.
Weapon Crafting
Sidequests now can drop weapon crafting recipes as part of the new weapon progression system. All weapon classes will be available to purchase in store, but weapon variants will need to be crafted by the player. Weapon variants boost certain aspects of one stat at the cost of another, and commonly come in these variants:
Heavy: Slower shooting, bigger damage
Accurate: More accurate, higher reload
Multi-shot: More shots, less accurate
Rapid Fire: Faster reload, less accuracy/damage
Lookahead
As we keep iterating on playtest, we will begin to split parts of the game that will eventually go into a demo update, and content that will be reserved for the full game release. As of now, we're close to finishing the last content update for the demo, and will be moving forward to working solely on full game release content. Our current plan is to eventually close the public testing page and switch to closed playtesting to avoid future content spoilers for full game release. If you want to join playtesting from there on in, we will open applications for playtesting soon. Stay tuned for updates!
