Ahoy Captains!
We've just pushed a major update to the Seas of Raesenia Playtest featuring an expanded Momentum system, rebalanced equipment, and numerous bug fixes.
Momentum System Overhaul
The Momentum system has received significant UI improvements and is now much more intuitive to use. When your momentum bar fills, you'll see a prompt to press Spacebar (or select any weapon) to access your Momentum Powers menu.
Momentum Powers can turn the tide of any battle. Starting powers include:
- CosmeticPrecision StrikeGuarantee hits for a limited time
- CosmeticEmergency RepairsRapidly restore armor and shields
- CosmeticOverdriveDouble main gun damage and drastically reduce global reload times
These abilities add strategic depth to combat, giving you more tools to overcome challenging enemies and special event encounters.
Quality of life updates
Several pieces of the combat UI have been updated for better visibility in battle. It should be much easier to see your HP bar and distinguish weapons from background action.
Looking Ahead: Crafting & Ship Customization
In preparation for our upcoming crafting system, we've rebalanced a large number of weapons and equipment pieces. Soon you'll have full control over your ship's loadout: stack shields for survivability, load up on guns for maximum firepower, or find your own unique build. Every configuration will have its own strengths and weaknesses, so experimentation is encouraged!
Next playtest update: The Forge and Ship Editor will unlock after defeating the Navy Pursuer during Talis' recruitment quest. Use resources dropped from battles to craft and upgrade equipment. All starting gear can be unequipped and replaced with Tier 1 gear as soon as you craft them.
Demo Branch Update
This content will be deployed to the Demo branch approximately two weeks after going live on Playtest, allowing us to gather feedback and ensure stability before the wider release.
As always, thank you for participating in our playtest. Your feedback helps shape the future of Seas of Raesenia!
