Ahoy captains! Now where we have done a few patches for the demo we have had time to pour over all the feedback you have given us on the Steam forum, discord and the occasional letter in a bottle. We wanted to give you a little update on what we will focus on next:

Combat improvements

  • Make aiming require less multi tasking by providing a target lock mechanic or slow down time when aiming when zoomed in.

  • More weapon variety and able to switch between different weapon groups

  • Make combat more “spikey” with special attacks

  • Bug: Some enemies never stop chasing you

  • While in combat, if you pass a world event engine stops and sails still get curled back in. Can result in you dying because you fail to escape.

In fact we have already started experimenting with some new weapons, the feared land torpedoes! We have also started prototyping the target lock mechanic. Still needs some fine tuning but it's nice to be able to look in a different direction than the target you want to shoot at.

Mouse and keyboard UI improvements

  • Make input for closing UI more uniform so ESC can be used across the game. Suggested by multiple

  • Being able to press the top to unassign crew again during challenges. Suggested by terbin

Gameplay improvements

  • Way to abandon quests and rumours - with a consequence. Suggest by multiple

  • Quests introducing the world better when starting a new game. Suggested by Davadin

  • Clearer when switching quests

  • Option to remap controls. A surprisingly complex task so this will take some time to get in

  • All “hidden” traits of a candidate can be seen if you hover over the Attributes

  • Ability to buy drinks at the pub with full crew. Suggested

Technical improvements

  • Framerate locks to 30 after changing resolution

  • Option saving issues (reported by fodder)

If there's anything else you think we should focus on then feel free to drop us a message on the Steam forum or on our Discord server! We will also answer any letter in a bottle just make sure it makes it's way past the waters around Copenhagen. Safe winds and happy holidays
