Sea Of Rifts changes
Ahoy Captains! It's Alex here with a new build and an update on how we will approach development going forward.
Playtest builds are back, here be potential dragons
We got a lot of really valuable feedback on the demo and want to react to it as quickly as possible while also making sure the demo is stable. This is by far the largest game anyone on the team has worked on and while we could spend a lot of time testing each release it would take time away from actually working on the game. We are therefore going to use the playtest as a way to get changes out quickly so you can help us confirm they work and find any potential bugs before we set them live for the demo.
With that out of the way here's the new changes in the playtest build:
New features
Big overhaul to performance on both the CPU and GPU side.
Swapped input for sailing and steam input
ESC can now be used to go out of more of the UI
Tweaks to the tutorial to make it a bit more snappy
Balancing
Reduced the amount of exposure devils spawning at sea
Bug fixes
Various mouse selection fixes. Thanks for reporting them @Splattercat and more
Swiftwind weapon layout fixed. Thanks for reporting the issue @jonek74
Volva's charm quest fixed. Thanks for reporting the issue @jonek74
Save game issue with floating settlements fixed. Thanks for reporting the issue @Gwen
Old saves should still work but if not please let us know on Discord!
Also we are still collecting and prioritizing all the feedback we got on the demo and will post a mini roadmap soon.
Safe winds
Skipper Alex
