Ahoy captains!

Thanks for all the feedback and kind words we have gotten on the demo so far it's been very motivating to see the game being in the hands of new players - and it also revealed some areas that needed improvement. We have therefore just pushed a new build: Steam post image New features

  • New layout for the Beluga so it’s got more offensive oomph

  • Option to have camera rotate with the ship to potentially make it easier to aim

  • A new close range weapon called a carronade has been added. It has yet to be determined if a volley from them is called a carronadeade

  • A new marauder armed with the carronade

  • A new spiky inhabitant has started appearing out at sea, better don’t go too fast

  • Paying crew is now a location in port making it easier to see it’s something you have to do before leaving

  • Arrows in the HUD now shows if the mood is going up or down

  • Greater range for setting mouse sensitivity. Thanks for reporting the issue @Tenoshii

  • Some start familiarity for tutorial crew

  • Various UI tweaks

  • Various visual tweaks

Balancing

  • Reduced range on rotary cannon

  • Halved the morale boost from feasts by increasing the amount of awkward small-talk, embarrassing incidents, and circular arguments

Bug fixes

  • Hover text should now not go outside the screen anymore. Thanks for reporting the issue @LimaZuluTango

  • Fixed combat music not playing in Sunken City

  • Beluga should now have an easier time hitting enemies Thanks for reporting the issue @LimaZuluTango

  • Lighthouse world event issue fixed. Thanks for reporting the issue @retromation

  • Options now saves correctly. Thanks for reporting the issue @fodder

  • Exposure devil not waiting for player when they are in harbour. Thanks for reporting the issue @LimaZuluTango

Known issues

  • Some players have performance issues with stutters when traversing the world and low framerate when the map is open. We are working on a new build soon that fixes this

Also old saves should still work but if not please let us know on Discord. Looking forward to hear what you think of the new changes!

Safe winds
