π οΈ Scrapping Simulator β v0.41.7 Update
π Major Addition: Bookcase of Manuals
A new Bookcase of Manuals has been added to the static bookcase inside the Player House. This serves as an optional, always-accessible hub for detailed information on game systems, mechanics, tips, and tricks.
The Bookcase provides comprehensive breakdowns of nearly every mechanic in the game and can be accessed at any time.
As players unlock technical systems (such as the Furnace and Chemical Refining), a corresponding Manual now appears with the upgrade, offering in-depth guidance.
Manuals function as normal carryable items. They can be placed anywhere, read at any time, and stored in or retrieved from the Bookcase. If lost, they can always be recovered from the Bookcase.
On game load, all Manuals are automatically returned to the Bookcase for consistency and performance.
Current manuals include: General Gameplay & Mechanics, Scrap Yard, Scrapper Joe, Pawn Shop, General Upgrades & Hardware Store, NPC Citizens & Scrappers, Coffee & Energy, E-Waste, Ingot Production Basics, Furnace and Chemical Refining, and more.
All manual text uses a clear, traditional font for better readability.
Additional Quality of Life: - A collider has been added inside the (now locked) bookcase. Any previously stored items will be moved to the Lost & Found box next to the bookcase on load. - The game now fully pauses while reading manuals.
π Tutorial Overhaul
With detailed information now available anytime through the manuals, the tutorial has been significantly streamlined to focus only on the absolute basics.
Lengthy system explanations have been removed.
When the tutorial reaches shop or system introductions (Hardware Store, Pawn Shop, E-Waste, etc.), it provides a brief overview and spawns the relevant Manual as an optional deep-dive resource.
Note: Scrapping Simulator has several complex mechanics, some confusing to even seasoned gamers. Players who take time to learn the systems through the manuals will have much more understanding of Game Mechanics and how the Game Operates Logically.
βοΈ Chemical Refining Improvements
Reaction times for the Chemical Refining Beaker have been significantly reduced (Drying time and Ingot production remain unchanged).
Reaction 1: 8 min β 3 min
Reaction 2: 10 min β 2.5 min
Total Beaker cycle time: 22 min β 9 min
Reaction 1 (impurity removal) is now intentionally longer than Reaction 2.
βοΈ Balancing & Economy Changes
Scrapper Joeβs minimum material requests have been increased and are now scaled to material value/rarity, making most requests more worthwhile. - The PC Stock Market now displays true base material values. All shops use this baseline, with their own bonuses and coupons applied clearly on top. - Positive material values slightly reduced and negative materials (Plastic, Waste Chemicals) slightly increased for better long-term progression. - Day 1 material prices are now preset (no longer fully RNG) to better guide new players:
Common metals (Iron, Aluminium, Brass) start high.
Copper is slightly below average.
Plastic, Silver, and Gold start at their lowest values to encourage saving them for ingot production.
β¨ Other Improvements & Quality of Life
Several blocky models in the Player House have been updated with higher-quality versions (including more realistic picture frames). - Microwave volume reduced by 20% and now properly connected to the SFX slider. - Added βNew E-Mailβ text to the email icon for clarity. - Scrapper Joe now has his own specific coupons with clearer pricing display. - Pawn Shop purchases now spawn as dummy items for better performance. - Chemical Waste Bucket can now be detached from the Host System and carried to the Scrap Yard for disposal. - Improved dynamic prompts and guidance at the Scrap Yard for new players. - Many interactions now work while carrying items (Coffee, doors, furnace lid, crucible, etc.). - Furnace interaction buttons swapped ([E] for interface, [F] for lid) to match the rest of the game. - Increased base disassembly rotation speed. - Many additional small QoL tweaks and interaction system improvements.
π Bug Fixes
Fixed Passout (0 Energy) event locking and repeating. - Fixed XP display and Level Up notification issues on new games. - Fixed various item spawning, despawning, and loading issues (including the Trolley). - Fixed multiple visual and material issues. - Fixed Chemical Disposal button consuming full volume at 1L cost. - Fixed NPC Scrappers taking very recently dropped items in protected zones. - Fixed several tutorial and save-related issues. - Removed old conflicting tutorial fix code. - Many other minor fixes and optimizations.
Thank you for playing!
