π οΈ Scrapping Simulator β v0.41.6 Patch Update
This update focuses on bug fixes, stability improvements, and quality-of-life adjustments based on recent reports.
π Tutorial
Fixed a softlock in the tutorial where the Zoom step could be skipped if the entire DVD Drive was disassembled without ever zooming.
Removed the popup that appeared when a tutorial step was skipped. Tasks will now fail and move on to the next step so the tutorial keeps flowing instead of interrupting and lecturing.
πͺ Hardware Store
Added a 15 minute purchase lockout. After 4:45 PM new items can no longer be purchased.
The final 15 minutes before closing can now only be used to transport already purchased items outside.
Over the years there have been countless reports of Hardware Store purchases becoming stuck, lost, deleted, or hidden. Most of these occurred when players attempted last-second purchases right before closing or purchased more items than could realistically be transported outside in time.
This change should prevent those situations from occurring in the future.
π Inventory
Fixed the Inventory Bag visual fill indicator sometimes displaying incorrect capacity after obtaining perks.
𧩠Disassembly System Improvements
The Disassembly WATCHDOG and recovery system has been reworked.
External Jobs are now fully disconnected from the Queue System.
Jobs triggered while idle will remain external and will no longer be incorrectly routed through the queue.
Prevents false recovery attempts and stops empty or null jobs being processed.
This returns full control back to the Core Disassembly System rather than splitting responsibility across the queue system.
After several hours of heavy stress testing with back-to-back Items, I was unable to reproduce the reported Disassembly Freeze (both the rare random occurrence and the tool spam scenario).
Hopefully this means the issue is now resolved and the system should be significantly more stable moving forward.
π Bug Fixes
Fixed a bug where items attached to the Disassembly Desk could still be rotated after exiting the table.
Fixed coupon discount prices not applying correctly after loading a save.
βοΈ Quality of Life
Removed the gravity influence on the Chem Station Blow Torch blue flame so both blue and orange flames remain aligned when positioning the torch.
Removed Ingot material names from the PC Price Check panel so only values are displayed.
Expanded the panel slightly so Gold and Silver prices are easier to read.
πΎ Saving Improvements
Manual player saves now also overwrite the AutoSave slot.
This fixes a bug where the game could incorrectly believe the player was loading an older version if they saved and reloaded before sleeping on the first day of a new update.
π Bug Reporter Improvements
Simplified the Additional Info section in the Bug Reporting UI.
Added a Live Feed "Known Bugs" panel.
The Known Bugs panel will show:
Bugs currently under investigation
Issues awaiting more information
Bugs fixed but waiting for the next patch
Issues actively being worked on
Important notes:
Entries are manually added by myself.
Once added, the data updates live in-game without requiring a restart.
From a player perspective, bugs should appear in the list within 1β48 hours depending on my availability.
The Known Bugs list is also now accessible from the Main Menu bug reporter.
This system should help reduce duplicate reports, help bug hunters identify issues needing more information, and keep the reporting pipeline much cleaner internally.
β€οΈ Thank You
A massive thank you to everyone submitting bug reports through the in-game reporter.
It makes tracking issues much faster and allows more development time to go toward new content and progress toward v1.0.
Happy Scrapping β€οΈ
