removedWith it also comes a fuel economy in the game. Driving is no longer for free! (And it wasn't even back then in the 80's - unlike many people want to tell you :) Each vehicle is configured with a different fuel tank capacity and fuel consumption. If you run low on gas, don't forget to fuel up at the gas station or bring some fuel canisters with you.
addedWatch the depiction under the fuel gauge which tells you which side the tank lid is on. Park in the vicinity of a gas pump and select the action by right-clicking on the vehicle (you have to be outside of the vehicle and close to the fuel pump). If you happen to find a fuel canister, stand besides the fuel pump and select the action "Fill" from the context menu of the fuel canister. When you bring the canister close to the tank lid of a car you can "Add Gas" from the canister to the car.
removedWhen entering a vehicle ("E" key) the vehicle no longer starts the engine automatically. You can either just start driving ("W,S") or hit the "SPACE" key to start-up the car. The headlights can also now be switched on and off using the "L" key.
addedTwo new Option (Simulation) properties allow you to configure the initial fuel when a vehicle spawns and the overall fuel consumption rate.
addedLet me know if you would like to have a rear-view mirror added to the dashboard. I think this might be a nice feature, being able to see what is going on behind the car (a zombie approaching...?).
changedVehicles of other players could display more than 2 light sources

Hello,

today's update (Version 0.6.3.4) brings you the vehicle dashboard, shown to you when entering a vehicle. The instrument panel displays 3 analogue components, the speedometer, the RPM gauge and a fuel gauge.

With it also comes a fuel economy in the game.

Watch the depiction under the fuel gauge which tells you which side the tank lid is on.

When entering a vehicle ("E" key) the vehicle no longer starts the engine automatically. You can either just start driving ("W,S") or hit the "SPACE" key to start-up the car. The headlights can also now be switched on and off using the "L" key.

Two new Option (Simulation) properties allow you to configure the initial fuel when a vehicle spawns and the overall fuel consumption rate.

Let me know if you would like to have a rear-view mirror added to the dashboard. I think this might be a nice feature, being able to see what is going on behind the car (a zombie approaching...?).

Bugfixes:

  • Vehicles of other players could display more than 2 light sources

  • Vehicles could under certain circumstance be driven faster than the speed limit set in Options

  • Map rendering could fall behind when driving a fast vehicle

  • Wooden bridge on Map 0,0 (x:600,y:200) had errors

Cheers, Ben
